Donated novena booklets are available for use when visiting there. They are placed in front of the icon display. The donor said that this gift is given in gratitude to our Lord for answering a knotty problem through our lady s intercession. Reminder: There are more holy cards to Our Lady Undoer of Knots on the display tables in both parish churches. WEDNESDAY EVENING DEVOTIONS Beginning Wednesday, May 13th, at 7:00 P.M. at Holy Trinity Church, Johnstown Catholic Devotions will commence with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, song and prayer, Divine Mercy Chaplet (bring your rosary), Benediction, Divine Praises, Prayer to Our Lady Undoer of Knots and concluding song. These devotions will take place every Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. in church, beginning at Holy Trinity for the month of May and alternating every month afterwards with Holy Spirit Church in Gloversville, until the last Wednesday of October. There will be a few times when one or both priests will be unavailable because of prior commitments to lead these devotions. Never the less, these devotions, with some adjustments, will still take place. A few appointed parishioners from both parishes will be trained to expose and repose the Blessed Sacrament without Benediction, lead the Divine Mercy Chaplet with Rosary, and conclude with prayer. In fact, many of our devoted laity from the Fulton/Montgomery Deanery are exposing and reposing the Blessed Sacrament for Perpetual Adoration into our second year now. Divine Mercy devotion aids, Our Lady Undoer of Knots prayer cards, and a few extra rosaries will be made available for those who need them. Bishop s Appeal Commitment Weekend at HOLY TRINITY will be April 25th. and 26th. This year s assessment is $64, Bishop s Appeal Commitment Weekend at HOLY SPIRIT will be May 2nd. and 3rd. This year s assessment is $47,029.00

4 FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Karen Hoose, Director of Faith Formation Fourth Sunday of Easter HOLY TRINITY PARISH FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Cindy Kollar, Faith Formation Coordinator Our Family is Growing again! On Sunday, April 19 th those attending the 11:00 A.M. mass had a rare treat, sharing in the celebration of the Confirmation of two adults. Jeremy and Mireille Yost were both sealed with the Gifts of the Spirit in Confirmation at this liturgy. Jeremy and Astrid Torres were also nourished with the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist for the first time in First Holy Communion. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to nurture their faith as they continue their journey into a deeper and abiding relationship with Jesus. Youth Ministry Time Change: Sunday, April 26th, grades 6-12 will meet together in the church for Praise/Worship/ Adoration from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 PM. Parents are more than welcome to join us. Confirmation Rehearsal: Sunday, April 26 th, there will be a rehearsal for all Candidates from Holy Spirit who will be receiving Confirmation on May 6 th. This rehearsal will be held in the church at 7:00 P.M. immediately following our Praise/Worship/Adoration night. Wednesday, April 29 th, at 5:30 P.M. the children in the First Communion class will have rehearsal in the church with dinner to follow in the hall; prepared by the Confirmation Class. Sunday, May 3 rd at the 10:30 A.M. Mass, 10 children will receive the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist. As we have done in the past, we reserve a pew for each child and their family. We invite everyone to attend this celebration. Please keep these children and their families in your prayers as they complete their preparation of this beautiful Sacrament. Wednesday, May 6 th the Sacrament of Confirmation will be held at the Auriesville Shrine at 5:30 P.M. Holy Trinity has 18 candidates in their final preparation to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for these young people as they continue their faith journey. As Fr. Jim mentioned at Sunday s mass, they are not the future of our church, these young people are the Church. Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for Judy Licciardo Brian Melville & Joni Swarts who were united into Holy Matrimony on April 18th at the Church of the Holy Spirit. She is currently battling a rare form of cancer. The parish would like to organize a spaghetti dinner to help Judy and her family with unexpected expenses. Anyone who is interested is invited to join us for an organizational meeting on Thursday, May 7 th at 6:30 P.M. in the parish hall. If you cannot make the meeting and would like to help with this event, please call the parish office MOTHER TERESA S CLOSET: We are currently in need of household cleaner, dish detergent and paper towels. We are in desperate need of diapers in size newborn to size 6.

The Sisters of the Holy Spirit will hold their Card Party on Monday, May 4th at 6:30 P.M. in the Holy Spirit Parish Hall. There will be prizes and refreshments. Admission tickets are $2.50 each. A raffle will be held in conjunction with the card party for a $1.00 donation per ticket. Prizes include $ cash, lottery tree, gift basket, cookie tray and fruit basket. You need not be present to win. Tickets for the card party and raffle are available from members, at the parish office or at the door the night of the party.
