In February the Wednesday Devotions will be at Holy Trinity with the Divine Mercy Chaplet in the presence of the exposed Blessed Sacrament. Prayer to Our Lady Undoer of Knots, Prayer for Vocations, Benediction, Divine Praise and closing prayer. PASTOR S MESSAGE: 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time What an audience Jesus has in today's Gospel! "A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of people from all over Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon." Disciples, pagans, and devout Jews gathered together to hear Jesus speak in the Sermon on the Mount. All of these people had something in common. God was someone to be bargained with, and if God liked you, you were rewarded with good fortune. This Sunday, Jesus tells us a different story. "Woe to you who are rich, who are filled now, who laugh when all speak well of you. Blessed are you who are poor, you who are now hungry, when people hate you and when they exclude you and insult you." Jesus completely flips the script on what it means to be blessed by God. What he proclaims as "woe" are states of life we often strive for, and "blessed" are the states we work hard to avoid! Jesus is concerned with the kingdom of God and the world to come, not the typical structures of power and privilege. The word "now" appears often in these statements. Why? If you are well "now," that's beside the point. To be rich in this life has no direct bearing on your immortal soul. If you're struggling "now," that's not an indication that God has forgotten you or that - in light of eternity - you're worse off than someone else. In fact, it could be an indicator that you're enduring something that will bring you to a place of greater, eternal joy in the future. This Sunday, consider your priorities. Who do we reject as not blessed, and thereby inflict woe upon ourselves? When we encounter difficult situations in our own lives, do we see them as opportunities to remember God and lean on His mercy and grace? PILGRIMAGE OPPORTUNITY: Fr. Matt will be leading a pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes, and Barcelona from October 6th October 15, For more information, please speak with Fr. Matt and take an informational brochure from the entrance of the churches. Matt MOTHER TERESA S CLOSET: We are looking for additional help on the following Wednesdays, March 6, April 3, May 8 and June 5 for Mother Teresa s Closet distribution days. A few more hands would make a big difference. We are also reaching out to our young people who may be on vacation. If you could lend a hand on one of those Wednesdays, we would greatly appreciate it. Distribution hours are 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thank you to all of you who constantly donate the products we need to give to those in need. We also thank our fellow parishioners at the Church of the Holy Spirit who help us out in so many ways.

4 FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Ann Simonson, Faith Formation Coordinator Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time HOLY TRINITY PARISH FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Cindy Kollar, Faith Formation Coordinator NO FAITH FORMATION OR YOUTH MINISTRY CLASSES on Sunday, February 17th due to school break. Classes will resume on Sunday, February 24th. NO FAITH FORMATION CLASSES on Sunday, February 17th & 24th due to school break. Congratulations to all the First Communion candidates from Holy Trinity and Holy Spirit who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last week. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH we will be celebrating our next teen mass at 6:00 P.M. at Holy Spirit. This is the class for grades 6-8. Grades 9 & 10 will have class directly following the Teen Mass from 7:15 P.M.-8:15 P.M. EMMAUS RETREAT: There will be an Emaus Parent Meeting on Sunday, February 24th in the upper room at Spirit Central at 7:15 P.M.. This is for any parents that have a student attending the retreat. This meeting will take place while your son/daughter is in their class. FIRST COMMUNION PARENT MEETING: There will be a First Communion Parent meeting on Sunday, March 3rd, 10:15 A.M.-11:15 A.M. in the back room at Spirit Central. The First Communion candidates will then be presented at the 11:30 A.M. Mass for a blessing. CONFIRMATION CLASS: There will be a mandatory Confirmation class for all Confirmation candidates on Saturday, March 2nd, 9:30 A.M.-2:00 P.M. at Spirit Central. Parents of Confirmation candidates should come at 12:30 P.M. on this day for a parent meeting in the upper room at Spirit Central. Information has been mailed home.
