TRUE STORIES OF LOVE AND TRUST AFTER PORN Complementary copies of the book Restored are available at the entrances of Holy Trinity and Holy Spirit parishes for those interested or suffering from the consequences of porn. Only a limited number is available at this time. Ten couples tell their stories, primarily from the wives experience. Porn kills love. These couples brought it back to life. Pornography is a cancer of the spirit that not only darkens the minds and souls of those who use it it corrodes their relationships. It destroys trust, deadens intimacy, and creates barriers of shame, anger and betrayal between husbands and wives, between parents and children. But this cancer can be cured. Love and trust can be built again. In the pages of Restored are ten honest, hard-hitting accounts of real women and couples whose lives were shattered by porn s destructive effects. Also, visit integrityrestored.com. INDULGENCES PAMPHLET Placed at all entrances of Holy Trinity and Holy Spirit parishes are complementary pamphlets on Indulgences. Because this is the Year of Mercy and numerous opportunities are available for all kinds of indulgences, especially at specific times in some cases, these pamphlets are being made available to give our parishioners and families both information and direction. Some key opportunities for Partial or Plenary Indulgences up ahead are: Wednesday Devotions where the Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed before the Blessed Sacrament (7:00 P.M. Holy Spirit in Gloversville during March), Good Friday Stations of the Cross at (2:00 P.M., Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 P.M., Main Services of the Lord s Passion & Death at 5:30 P.M.), and all Masses of Divine Mercy Sunday (First Sunday after Easter). Indulgences are defined, explained, derived from Scripture and tradition, as well as noted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The basic scriptural derivation of the Plenary Indulgence is best revealed when the Good Thief hanging next to Christ on Calvary asks the Lord,...Remember me, Lord, when you come into your kingdom. And the Lord responds, Today, you will be with Me in Paradise. A full pardon! LENTEN COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE Remember to celebrate the Sacrament of Confession before Lent is over, certainly before celebrating Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday the following week. An opportunity presents itself on Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00 P.M. at St. Joseph s Church in Broadalbin, where three (3) priests will be hearing confessions. Recall what the Lord revealed to St. Faustina: The priest is only the veil before Me; it is I myself who am waiting for you.

Elementary and First Communion Grades K-5 classes meet from 9:40 A.M. -10:45 A.M. Faith Formation Classes Week of March 13th: There will be NO Faith Formation classes next weekend. Emmaus Retreat: Our ninth and tenth grade teens will be attending their Emmaus Retreat on the weekend of March Prayer is a very important part of this weekend and we would like to ask for your help. There are votive candles in the front and side entrances of the church with a candidates name on them. Please take one home with you, light it, and pray for that candidate that you have chosen. The Emmaus Retreat Team will also be attending the 11:00 A.M. mass today as their Team Mass. It is important that we take time to pray that the Holy Spirit will lead us as we guide the young people in our care toward a deeper relationship with Jesus on the weekend. Please join your prayers with ours that we will have a successful weekend. THE CLOSING OF THE EMMAUS RETREAT will be taking place next Sunday, March 13, at 5:30 P.M. in the church. All members of the parish are invited to attend to welcome our Candidates back from their weekend and personally witness some of our youth sharing the spiritual growth they have experienced. FISH AND CHIPS DINNER AT CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Fried Haddock with fries and coleslaw Friday, March 11th, 4:00 P.M.-6:30 P.M. (eat in or take out). Cost is $7.00, Tickets are available at the Holy Spirit parish office or at the door. Proceeds to Sisters of the Holy Spirit. Sisters of the Holy Spirit will meet on Monday, March 7th at 6:30 P.M. in the parish hall. Officers for 2016 will be installed. Upcoming plans will be discussed. Everyone is asked to bring an item for the Mother Teresa s Closet such as dish detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, wipes etc. All women are invited and new members are always welcome! BINGO WORKERS: The fifth team, Tony & Gene Reppenhagen & Mike Ponticello are scheduled for 3/12. Sue & Chas DeLilli are scheduled in the kitchen. Would you like to be a carpenter for a day just like St. Joseph? Please join us on Saturday, March 19 th at 10:00 A.M. in the church hall while Deacon Dick helps us to create a masterpiece. April 2, 2016 will be our Eucharist Learning Stations in the parish hall from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. for all those preparing to receive First Holy Communion in May. This collection funds six Catholic agencies that work to serve Jesus in the disguise of our suffering brothers and sisters around the world. These agencies provide a broad range of services, including advocating for immigrants, providing humanitarian aid in the wake of natural disasters, resettling displaced individuals, and working for increased peace in our world. Your support of this collection is an opportunity to help Jesus in disguise. THE CHAPLET OF THE DIVINE MERCY In 1935, St. Faustina received a vision of an angel sent by God to chastise a certain city. She began to pray for mercy, but her prayers were powerless. Suddenly she saw the Holy Trinity and felt the power of Jesus grace within her. At the same time she found herself pleading with God for mercy with the words she heard interiorly: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us. It is appropriate to pray the Chaplet during the Hour of Great Mercy three o clock each afternoon (recalling the time of Christ s death on the cross). In His revelations to St. Faustina, Our Lord asked for a special remembrance of His Passion at the hour. Please join Deacon Francis Vivacqua in praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy on Good Friday, March 25th at 3:00 P.M. If you would like to donate towards the Easter Flowers at Holy Trinity Parish or Holy Spirit, please do so by using the flower envelope in you parish packet or use a plain envelope. Place you donation in the collection basket at mass. Please include your name and the name of the person(s) the donation is in memory of. Please submit you donation by March 16th.
