3 PASTOR S MESSAGE 3 At the end of the Liturgical year we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. A solemnity that encompasses the entire life of our Lord Jesus and its mysteries. Why such a Solemnity? Because after we have gotten to know our Lord in His mysteries we proclaim and bear witness that Jesus is Lord of the whole universe and king of our heart. Today, the world need witness, witness the truth in all its ramification. Jesus gave us examples: when he was presented to Pilate, He affirmed that He came to the world to testify to the truth, and that everyone who belongs to the truth, listens to His voice. (Cf John 18:36-37) the martyrs who died in Spain and Mexico during the persecution to the Catholic Church, many of them died crying out: Viva Christo Rey! which means, Long live to Christ the King!. That sound of the martyrs have to echo today in many of us in this secular society, where there is much persecution to Christ and His Church. We are called to be faithful to our faith, no matter what entails, even if it s necessary to give our own life, so that the kingship of Jesus may come to dwell in our wounded society. At the 9:30 am Mass some of us will witness the profession that the IVE brothers will proclaim, they will become, through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, a living witnesses of Jesus Christ who came to do good to all in His poverty, chastity and obedience to the Father. Please keep them in your prayers. Also as I do every year, I will consecrate the whole parish and families to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Christ the King, so that He may protect and bless all of our families. This weekend as you listen attentively the report of Mr. Cesario about the finances of the parish, I encourage you to continue in your generosity toward the parish, so that we may continue with all the activities, salaries and maintenance of the parish. The Lord has given us this big and beautiful parish, it is our duty to continue keeping it beautiful and strong. Be generous and do not allow negative reaction and discouragement of some to keep you from practicing Christian Charity. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7) I encourage you to say this prayer during this week or today Sunday: Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Most Sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Thine altar. We are Thine, and Thine we wish to be; but to be more surely united to Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates ourselves today to Thy Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known Thee; Many too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart. Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful children, who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children, who have abandoned Thee; Grant that they may quickly return to their Father s house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to draw them into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy towards the children of the race, once Thy chosen people: of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Savior; may it now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life. Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry; praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; To it be glory and honor forever. The orchestra is comprised of students from the Minor Seminary, Loyola Catholic Schools, homeschoolers, and also seeks to serve the underprivileged students of our community.

Praise and Worship music is being presented by SONAR Key Note Speakers will include Sr. Paul Mary Ritggers (Director of Faith Formation for the Diocese of Winona) and Fr. Andrew Vogal. Many area Priests will also be present offering a special focus and opportunity to receive the Grace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This event is free to the public.
