3 PASTOR S MESSAGE 3 Dear Brothers and Sisters: Today we read in the Gospel: They led Him to the brow on the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down headlong. But passing through the midst of them He went away. St. Ambrose says, Behold! the minds of these furious men, being suddenly changed, or stupefied, He goes down through the midst of them. And he adds the reason, For when He wills He is taken; when He wills He slips away; when He wills He is slain; because His hour had not yet come, John vii. 30. For as yet He must preach, and at last be crucified at Jerusalem by the Father s decree, but not cast down headlong in Nazareth. This whole episode is a good lesson about understanding who Jesus is. We can understand Him only if we are humble and are genuinely resolved to make ourselves available to Him. Let us always remember that this fidelity is required, first of all, that we may preserve the life of grace by avoiding mortal sin. The life of grace is incomparably more precious than that of the body, than the power to perform miracles; it is of such worth that our Savior delivered Himself up to death in order to restore it to us. If were given to us to contemplate unveiled the amazing splendor of sanctifying grace, we should be ravished. Moreover, fidelity is required to merit and obtain the increase of the life of grace, which ought to grow until our entrance into heaven, since we are travelers on the road to eternity and since we advance toward our goal by growing in the love of God. From this comes the necessity of sanctifying each and every one of our acts, even the most ordinary, by accomplishing them with purity of intention, for a supernatural motive, and in union with our Lord. If we were thus faithful from morning until evening, each of our days would contain hundreds of meritorious acts, hundreds of acts of love of God and of neighbor, made on every pleasant or painful occasion, and when evening came, our union with God would be more intimate and much stronger. It has often been said that to sanctify ourselves there is no more practical and more efficacious means that is more within the reach of all, than thus to supernaturalize each of our acts by offering them in union with our Lord, to God for His glory and the good of souls. Mở sách ra, Người gặp ngay đoạn chép rằng: "Thánh Thần Chúa ngự trên tôi, vì Ngài xức dầu cho tôi, sai tôi đi rao giảng Tin Mừng cho người nghèo khó, thuyên chữa những tâm hồn sám hối, loan truyền sự giải thoát cho kẻ bị giam cầm, cho người mù được trông thấy, trả tự do cho những kẻ bị áp bức, công bố năm hồng ân và ngày khen thưởng". Người gấp sách lại, trao cho thừa tác viên, và ngồi xuống. Mọi người trong hội đường đều chăm chú nhìn Người. Người bắt đầu nói với họ: "Hôm nay ứng nghiệm đoạn Kinh Thánh mà tai các ngươi vừa nghe". Đó là lời Chúa. 7 Cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario 3 de febrero de 2019 Hacemos un cordial invitación a La Legión de María todos los sábados de 9:00 am a 10:00 am en la sala 205. UNA MISIÓN CONTINUA En la sinagoga de su pueblo natal, los vecinos se maravillaban con las palabras de Jesús. No obstante, se preguntaban: No es este el hijo de José? Con seguridad la gente sabía quién era Jesús. El hijo del carpintero. El joven que aprendió en esa misma sinagoga. El muchacho de la calle. El conflicto surge cuando Jesús empieza a definirse de una manera nueva. Las tensiones aumentan cuando se compara con los antiguos profetas Elías y Eliseo. Las tensiones se multiplican cuando Jesús empieza a hablar de una nueva misión para el pueblo de Dios: la Buena Nueva de la Escritura está dirigida a todos. En su famoso pasaje de la primera carta a los Corintios, san Pablo nos recuerda la naturaleza del amor eterno. El amor no termina. En la lectura de hoy, se nos recuerda que, como el amor, la misión de Jesús no se puede detener. Jesús se desliza entre la multitud de perseguidores y sigue adelante con nuevos retos.
