3 PASTOR S MESSAGE 3 As I mentioned last Sunday s homily, I am glad to be back from my mission trip in Guyana and to start again the normal activities of the parish and the seminary. These past weeks I really felt the presence of God s providence in all the events I came across. The Mission in Guyana showed me how merciful and bountiful is our heavenly Father with His creatures. One of the amazing moments of the mission was to be able to bring the sacraments to the sick and give comfort in their lives, despite of their poverty and suffering, the people know, that God is with them all the time, they don t feel abandon by God at all, that was the response of many. I had the grace of bringing joy to children and youth through the preaching and also skit performed by all the missionaries. The simplicity and religiosity of the amerindian people in Guyana was so uplifting that it encourages oneself to give up everything in order to announce the gospel of Christ to all. Loyola Catholic School: It s so beautiful to see our school children back in the school for the new school year, we really missed their present in our streets, in the church and in the parish hall. I ask all the parishioners to continue supporting our catholic school, both spiritual and financially. Here is an extract of the new principal e-newsletter: Loyola Catholic School kicked-off the school year with a great start Monday morning with music, pictures, breakfast and an all-school assembly on the Upper Campus. Thank you to the many parents, grandparents and SSND who stayed and helped in celebrating the start of another school year. It was also wonderful to see our school staff joining in on the fun greeting our students and families before school and joining in on the assembly. Thank you all! RCIA: Many people are interesting in learning about what and why catholic do things in Church. You may come and explore what the catholic church can offer you. Jesus came to offer His Sanctifying Grace and Salvation, why not come to answer to Jesus. God calls us through mysterious ways in life. He may be calling you to share His very life and become a child of God through Baptism and Confirmation. More than ever we need Christians who will continue to spread the good news of God s kingdom in our midst, you can be one of them. Come to RCIA. Call to the parish office for information and registration and I will get hold of you as soon as possible. Our Catholic Ministries Appeal 2016 continues making progress toward this year s goal. Currently Ss Peter and Paul Parish has raised $ 30,475 towards our $ 49,360 goal. Thank you to all who have contributed to date. If you haven t had the opportunity to support the Appeal, please consider a donation. All parishes in the Diocese rely on the critical ministries completely funded and supported by the Appeal. Your support, no matter how large makes a large impact. Please respond generously. Pilgrimage: This Thursday September 8th our parish will join our Bishop John Quinn in the consecration to the Immaculate of Mary. Our annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Guadalupe in Wisconsin will take place the same day, the Nativity of Our Lady, what better way to consecrated our parish and ourselves to Mary!

Jesus & the Little Ones Sunday School Catechists are needed to share the Sunday Gospel readings with 3-7 year old children on their level. The program is held during the Liturgy of the Word during the 9:30 am Sunday Mass. Catechists lead the children out of Mass after a blessing from the priest and return at offertory. Contact the Faith Formation office for more information. In recent years there has been a great increase in the number of adults who are joining the Catholic Church. RCIA is a program designed to help non-catholics and non-practicing Catholics learn more about Catholicism through a series of classes, discussions, prayer times, and ceremonies. This program helps people grow in faith and knowledge of God as they consider becoming Catholic; although there is no obligation to join the Catholic Church. Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church RCIA program is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you are not yet sure whether you want to become Catholic, that s ok!
