3 PASTOR S MESSAGE 3 3 Dear brothers and sisters Today the Gospel speaks of the Temple. We read the account of Jesus s cleansing of the Temple. This episode contains many lessons. I would like to present a beautiful teaching of Saint Thomas Aquinas. He says: The temple of God can be understood as the spiritual soul, as Saint Paul says: The temple of God is holy, and that is what you are (1 Cor 3:17). Thus a man sells oxen, sheep and doves in the temple when he harbors bestial movements in his soul, for which he sells himself to the devil. For oxen, which are used for cultivating the earth, signify earthly desires; sheep, which are obtuse animals, signify man s obstinacy; and the doves signify man s instability. It is God who drives these things out of men s hearts. As Christians, when we live in the state of sanctifying grace, we truly become a living temple of God. Therefore it is our duty to keep the temple of our hearts clean. If God is the guest of our soul, then we must see what our duties towards our Divine guest are: - that we think often of Him and tell ourselves that God lives in us; - that we consecrate our day, our hour, to God - that we remember that the interior Guest is for us the source of light, consolation, and strength; - that we pray to Him as Christ suggests: "Pray to your Father in secret (in your soul): and your Father who sees in secret, will repay thee"; - that we adore the interior Guest saying: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord"; - that we believe in Him; - that we trust absolutely in Him, and love Him with an increasingly pure, generous, and strong love; that we love Him by imitating Him, especially by goodness, according to the words of our Savior: "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Let us continue to take advantage of this time of Lent. God bless you. Fr. Javier Ibarra Buela Youth Orchestra and Minor Seminary Events Sunday, April 8, Divine Mercy Sunday, The Buela Youth Orchestra and The Minor Seminary will play for the Mass at 9:30 am. Please join us Saturday April 28, 2:30-3:30 pm to hear The Buela Youth Orchestra and The Minor Seminary students perform a string, piano, and organ recital, in the Church. A light reception to follow the event. On Saturday, May 19, The Buela Youth Orchestra and The Minor Seminary will hold their Spring Concert at 7:00 pm at Fitzgerald.

Người hất tung tiền của những người đổi bạc, xô đổ bàn ghế của họ và bảo những người bán chim câu rằng: "Hãy đem những thứ này đi khỏi đây, và đừng làm nhà Cha Ta thành nơi buôn bán". Môn đệ liền nhớ lại câu Kinh Thánh: "Sự nhiệt thành vì nhà Chúa sẽ thiêu đốt tôi". Bầy giờ người Do-thái bảo Người rằng: "Ông hãy tỏ cho chúng tôi thấy dấu gì là ông có quyền làm như vậy". Chúa Giêsu trả lời: "Các ông cứ phá huỷ đền thờ này đi, nội trong ba ngày Ta sẽ dựng lại". Người Do-thái đáp lại: "Phải bốn mươi sáu năm mới xây được đền thờ này, mà Ông, Ông sẽ dựng lại trong ba ngày ư?" Nhưng Người, Người có ý nói đền thờ là thân thể Người. Vì thế, khi Chúa Giêsu từ cõi chết sống lại, các môn đệ mới nhớ lời đó, nên đã tin Kinh Thánh và tin lời Người đã nói. Trong thời gian Người ở lại Giêrusalem mừng lễ Vượt qua, nhiều kẻ tin danh Người, vì mục kích những phép lạ Người làm. Nhưng chính Chúa Giêsu không tin tưởng họ, vì Người biết tất cả mọi người, và không cần ai làm chứng về người nào; Người biết rõ mọi điều trong lòng người ta. 6 MARCH 4, Help Us Grow Forum/Breakfast with the Padres on February 10th was a success more forums will be planned. Fr. Javier would like more attendance and hours for Eucharistic Adoration. The Sisters will be arriving March 22nd. The three Sisters will oversee Sacristy, participate in Liturgical Worship and Youth Ministry for our Parish. They will also teach classes at the Seminary to free up our priests for Parish work. WANTED: A vehicle for our Sisters. WANTED: Eucharistic Adoration Coordinator. Los primeros tres, los cuales se refieren a una buena relación con Dios, son más extensos. Quizás el que más nos cueste a nosotros, que siempre estamos tan ocupados, es santificar las fiestas refiriéndose al día del Señor. Si tomáramos este mandamiento literalmente, no cambiaríamos a los bebés, los platos quedarían en la mesa y quizás ni siquiera serviríamos las comidas. Los enfermos no serían atendidos y no se haría nada que estuviera relacionado con el trabajo físico. Se considera trabajo al trabajo mental? Y qué hay de cambiarle el pañal al bebé ( pobrecito!)? Debemos depender de Dios para discernir de qué manera debemos respetar y santificar el día del Señor en nuestras vidas. La clave de este mandamiento es que Dios nos ha dado un gran regalo: un día entero por semana en el cual somos libres para descansar, rendirle culto a Dios, cantar, celebrar, amar y alegrarnos. Como proclama el Salmo 19 (18): Los mandatos del Señor son rectos y alegran el corazón (19 [18]:8).
