3 Fr. Tom s Tidbits Next weekend, married couples who a end Mass will have an opportunity to renew their marriage vows a er the homily. As you enter Church, copies of the vows will be available. Please take one as an aid. The Second Collec on next weekend will be for the Re red Priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Helping Hands and the Knights of Columbus will be having their Annual Rummage Sale in July. More informa on about when to drop off dona ons, and the dates of the Rummage Sale will appear in future bulle ns. Our Parish has a new ministry. It is The Legion of Mary. This is an opportunity for parishioners to meet weekly and to pray. There is a format to the prayer. The aim of The Legion of Mary is the Glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and ac ve coopera on in Mary s and the Church s work. This year s Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27th. The Novena begins at 1:30PM followed by Mass. A recep on will follow in the Parish Center. Please pray for the safety of our Parish School Children as they begin their summer vaca on. Have A Great Summer To All Of Our Students! This week remember in your prayers all those children and teenagers who are either just star ng their summer vaca on, or are gradua ng either from 8th Grade or High School. Congratula ons to all of our Graduates! Let us pray that God watch over all of our children, and help them to have a fun and safe summer. 4 Respect Life Rosary Next Saturday, June 6th, at 8AM in the Church, and the first Saturday of every month, join us for Mass at 8AM followed by the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady. This Rosary medita on recalls the sorrows of the Blessed Mother who endured in compassion the suffering and death of her Divine Son. The Rosary is recited for the inten ons of the unborn, and in repara on for the sin of abor on. Please join us next Saturday, June 6th. A Special Thank You! Thursday, June 25th, is Our Lady of Humility s commitment to provide volunteers to help with the Soup Kitchen at Holy Family Services (the old St. Bartholomew Parish) located at: 914 8th Street, Waukegan. It is always the fourth Thursday of every month. Food prepara on begins at 3PM, dinner is served at 5:30PM, followed by clean-up. We are usually done by 7PM. 6 Lake County Right To Life Rose Sale Thank you to all the parishioners that purchased Roses for the Mother s Day Rose Sale, sponsored by Lake County Right to Life, and sold by our Christ First Teens! Neither winds nor rain would deter our teens from bringing Roses to you, so you can present them to your Mom on Mother s Day! Christ First High School Youth Group The school year has almost finished, and we are done with our Sunday night mee ngs as well. Our Sunday nights over this last year have involved service projects, small group discussions, games, open gym me, an overnighter, food, walking the sta ons of the cross at our outdoor sta ons, me for reflec on, and Shadow Sta ons during Holy Week our week at Catholic HEART Workcamp is s ll to come in July. Our Sunday night mee ngs for this year wrapped up with the Induc on of our New Peer Ministers, and a sad good-bye to our Seniors. The last mee ng was held in the backyard of one of our new Peer Ministers, which included a cookout and bonfire. 7 A en on All Married Couples!!! The Sacrament of Marriage is God s gi that strengthens the bond between a husband and wife as they journey through life s ups and downs. For this reason a man shall leave (his) father and (his) mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. (Ephesians 5:31) tells us marriage is a sacred commitment of love between a man and a woman; their love brings them closer to God. You have an opportunity to renew your marriage vows, and to express your love for your spouse in front of God during all Masses next weekend, June 6th/7th. Renew your marriage vows, and receive God s blessing. Liturgy Of The Word For Children Liturgy of the Word for Children will recess during the 11AM Mass for June and July. Liturgy of the Word for Children will start up again on Sunday, August 16th. Chris and Tasha Nurczyk will con nue Liturgy of the Word for Children at the 9AM Mass through the Summer as much as they can. Thank you to the Prayer Leaders who have been taking the children out all year to read and discuss the readings. You are a blessing to the Parish community. An Important Note From The Knights Of Columbus Dear Our Lady of Humility Parishioners, The Knights of Columbus are preparing to submit another order of Engraved Paver Bricks for the Sta ons of the Cross Walkway, and Memorial Trees. If you are contempla ng ordering an Engraved Paver Brick for the Walkway, or a Memorial Tree, please submit your request as soon as possible. We plan to submit the applica ons to the Engraving Company by Monday, June 8th. The Legion Of Mary Our Lady Of Humility Parish The Legion of Mary has successfully been re-established in Our Lady of Humility Parish! The group has now been mee ng for a month on Mondays at 9AM in the Holy Child Center. We meet weekly for prayer, study, and sharing of work done for the extension of the Gospel to others. EXCITING NEWS We are star ng another group in the evenings on Tuesdays at 7PM in the Holy Child Center beginning June 9, There has been much interest in The Legion of Mary, BUT people cannot a end the morning mee ngs. We have been able to arrange to facilitate a 2nd Group! The Legion of Mary members are living out their Apostolic Mission called for by their Bap sm and Confirma on with ministry work that focuses on the Spiritual Works of Mercy. The Goals of The Legion of Mary Apostolate are: Self-Sanc fica on, and the Glory of God through bringing others to Mary s Son, Jesus Christ.
