The Handmaids of the Precious Blood referred us to them, and I wanted to make sure that we con nued to have altar bread made by Nuns. Liturgy Of The Word For Children For over 25 years now, our Parish has provided for our younger members, a simpler form of the first part of the Mass, namely, the Liturgy of the Word. They hear one reading and the Gospel on their level. They do the responses and Psalm response as we do in Church. The homily a er the Gospel reading takes on a li le different format. The Prayer Leader asks the children ques ons in an effort to help the children review the message, and how to apply it to their everyday lives. They then pray the Creed by responding to each part of it with an I do, meaning that they believe. The Prayers of the Faithful are their personal inten ons. They regularly pray for their grandparents who have died, and their families. Another regular is to pray for the poor, and the soldiers. The Prayer Leader then ends with, for all these prayers, and those in our hearts, we ask a blessing. which the children respond with Amen. Leaflets are passed out to each child to take home. The leaflet has games children can do to con nue the learning process. There is always a simple form of the Gospel reading, and a part for the parents with sugges ons for doing ac vi es around the theme of the readings at home. We are in need of more Prayer Leaders, so two adults could be assigned each week for the 9AM and 11AM Masses. Eighth Graders and High School Students could take the role of an Aide for the second person. Jesus waits for us in this Sacrament of Love. In the sacred Host, He is present, the true treasure, always wai ng for us. Only by adoring this Presence do we learn how to receive Him properly. Understood simply, Eucharis c Adora on is adoring or honoring the Eucharis c Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves the contempla on of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us. During Eucharis c Adora on, we watch and wait, we remain silent in His Presence, and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist By worshipping the Eucharis c Jesus, we become what God wants us to be! Like a magnet, the Lord draws us to Himself, and gently transforms us. In its fullest essence.. Eucharis c Adora on is God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same me! Do something special this New School Year, please consider coming to Eucharis c Adora on on Thursdays at 2PM, where you will have an opportunity to spend me with the Lord Jesus, in the Blessed Sacrament each week where we can ASK HIM anything. Come, bring your whole family, spend some me with the Lord, and receive His blessings! He is wai ng for you! 8 Welcome to Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church

9 We All Need A Li le Mercy PRELUDE: Wri en by Ma hew Kelly (Author of 20 Books) We All Need A Li le Mercy here is Ma hew s Story: Adam struggles to get out of bed each morning, it isn t un l he completes his daily stretches that his right leg will loosen up enough for him to walk. He is just 26 years old, but his leg func ons like that of a man much older. It s been two years to the day since Adam was honorably discharged from the Marines. Injured in a Firefight, he will always walk with a limp. He smiles, though, as he thinks about the day ahead. He finishes his stretches, and rests in a chair by the window. He pauses, takes a deep breath, and begins to pray. He thanks God for his wife, and asks Him to guide her in her day. He prays for his family and friends, each by name. He prays for all the men and women s ll in ac ve duty. He prays for the conversion of his enemies. Finally, he offers the pain he will feel in his leg, for all the men and women he fought alongside who do not get to celebrate a return home the way he does. He prays for their souls, that they may rest eternally in the peace of God. Adam winces as he rises and grabs for the cane by the bed. He joins his wife for breakfast, and they begin the day together. That s beau ful mercy!
