3 Welcome Father Paul Stemn Sixth Pastor Of Our Lady of Humility Parish Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Father Paul Stemn! He will be at all of our Masses this weekend. He is the Sixth Pastor of Our Lady of Humility Parish. Welcome Father Paul! Welcome To Father Paul Stemn! Father Paul Stemn will be our new Pastor starting July 1, 2015, coming from Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity from Winnetka. We will have a formal welcome for Father Paul after Masses on Sunday, July 19th, during Donut Sunday. Please be sure to stop after Mass before July 19th to meet and greet Father Paul as he begins his Pastor duties. According to the Catholic New World, Father Paul graduated from St. Anthony School and John Adams High School in South Bend, Indiana, Indiana University-Bloomington, and University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. Paul Stemn served in the U.S. Army from , and he worked from as a Research Analyst in the field of Data Base Marketing. God s calling of becoming a priest was always in the back of his mind, and eventually Paul Stemn yielded himself to God, and was ordained to the priesthood on May 23, Father Paul s vocation to the priesthood was supported by his mother and the nuns and priests who taught him in grade school. Changes To Lockbox Codes For All Parish Access We welcomed Fr. Paul Stemn as our new Pastor on July 1st. As of this Friday, July 10th, we will be changing all of our Lockbox Codes for all Parish access. These codes have not been changed for several years, and it is always good to make periodic changes to ensure our property and buildings are adequately secured. 4 Co-Ed Senior Luncheon The Co-Ed Seniors will not be having their Luncheon in July. Their next luncheon will be Tuesday, August 11, It will be their Annual BBQ Picnic. Watch the bulletin for further details. 40 s, 50 s, & Better Ice Cream Social Sundaes On A Sunday The 40 s, 50 s, & Better Group will be having an Ice Cream Social next Sunday, July 12th, from 2-4PM in the Hayes Community Room. Our Christ First Teens and Adults leave this weekend for Catholic HEART Workcamp in Champaign, Illinois a week spent with other teens helping those in need. Again, thank you for the continued generosity. Soup Kitchen Do something helpful this summer! Volunteers from our Parish are desperately needed. Thursday, July 23rd, is Our Lady of Humility s commitment to provide volunteers to help with the Soup Kitchen at Holy Family Services (the old St. Bartholomew Parish) located at: 914 8th Street, Waukegan. It is always the fourth Thursday of every month. Food preparation begins at 3PM, dinner is served at 5:30PM, followed by clean-up. We are usually done by 7PM. Any time that you can give is greatly appreciated and needed. Religious Education News The Religious Education Office is Closed for the Summer. The Religious Education Office will reopen on Sunday, August 16th. Religious Education Registrations will begin on Sunday, August 16th, Watch for more details in upcoming bulletins. Registration Forms are available online on the Parish s Website. Religious Education Classes will begin on Sunday, September 13th, and Monday, September 14th. Eucharistic Adoration A Taste Of Heaven Awaits Us In Eucharistic Adoration! Indeed, Earth is joined to Heaven each time we are united with the Saints and Angels in extolling God, Who, in worship we see, if not with the sight of eyes, then with the eyes of faith. We are called to abide in the Eucharistic Presence of our Lord, like the Saints and Angels do in Heaven, as they behold the glory of God, and sing His Praise! The Saints and Angels wait upon the Lord, and do His Will in all things. Their presence magnifies the Lord. They also intercede for us before the Lord. When we look upon the Sacred Host, we look at Jesus, the Son of God. Do we see Him in all His glory and majesty? Do our lips proclaim His praise? Do our souls magnify the Lord making Him clearer, more in focus, and larger to others around us? Do we place the needs of others before Him? Are we open to the Will of God, and strive for perfection in our spiritual lives so that we, too, may one day join the company of Saints in Heaven? It is at this moment when we are most intimately in communion with God that we experience a taste of Heaven, a foreshadowing of what it will be like, when, by God s grace, we enter into everlasting life. Indeed, this is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in Him, shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last day. ( Jn 6:40). Do something special this Summer, please consider coming to Eucharistic Adoration on Thursdays at 2PM. Come, bring your whole family, spend some time with the Lord, and receive His blessings! 7 The Legion Of Mary Our Lady Of Humility Parish The Legion of Mary has successfully been re-established in Our Lady of Humility Parish! The group has now been meeting for a month on Mondays at 9AM in the Holy Child Center. We meet weekly for prayer, study, and sharing of work done for the extension of the Gospel to others. EXCITING NEWS We have started another group in the evenings on Tuesdays at 7PM in the Holy Child Center. There has been much interest in The Legion of Mary, BUT people cannot attend the morning meetings. We have been able to arrange to facilitate a 2nd Group! The Legion of Mary members are living out their Apostolic Mission called for by their Baptism and Confirmation with ministry work that focuses on the Spiritual Works of Mercy. The Goals of The Legion of Mary Apostolate are: Self-Sanctification, and the Glory of God through bringing others to Mary s Son, Jesus Christ.
