O en the problem with reading the Bible is that it was not wri en as a linear story. So, when people begin to read it, they quickly lose the overall narra ve thread or plot of the story. But with this unique approach, we will learn about the major people, places, events, and themes of the Bible ge ng the big picture of the Bible from crea on and Adam and Eve (the Book of Genesis), all the way through the Resurrec on of Jesus Christ, and the beginnings of the Catholic Church (Acts of the Apostles). Perhaps for the first me in your life, you will understand the overview of the Bible story. This then makes subsequent Bible Study and reading understandable, and the Sunday Mass Readings come alive like never before. Come and learn more about the Greatest Story Ever Told! Unlocking the Mystery of The Bible will be offered at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church in Beach Park on Tuesday Evenings from 7PM 8:30PM. This is an eight-session program beginning September 26th, and ending on December 5th. We will not meet every Tuesday. Our first mee ng will be in the Church. 4 Respect Life Rosary Next Saturday, August 5th, at 8AM in the Church, and the first Saturday of every month, join us for Mass at 8AM followed by the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady. This Rosary medita on recalls the sorrows of the Blessed Mother who endured in compassion the suffering and death of her Divine Son. The Rosary is recited for the inten ons of the unborn, and in repara on for the sin of abor on. Please join us next Saturday, August 5th. Knights Of Columbus Raffle Tickets The Knights of Columbus are currently selling their Raffle Tickets. We ask for your support by dona ng $10.00 for one or more of the Raffle Tickets. Knights Of Columbus Semi-Annual Blood Drive This Sunday, July 30th, From 8AM Un l 1PM The Knights Of Columbus will be having their Semi-Annual Blood Drive in the Parish Center this Sunday, July 30th, from 8AM un l 1PM. If you haven t signed up already it s not too late, walk-ins are welcome. A reminder, for each unit of blood donated, it can help up to three people in need. This is truly a gi from the heart. Knights Of Columbus Rosary Service The Knights of Columbus are hos ng a fi h Sunday of the month Rosary Service this Sunday, July 30th, following the 9AM Mass. All are invited to join us in praying for A Greater Respect For All Human Life. The Recita on of the Rosary is granted a Plenary Indulgence (under the usual condi ons) if it is recited in a Church. The gaining of the Plenary Indulgence is regulated by these norms: Five (5) decades of the Rosary must be prayed con nuously. The prayers of the Rosary must be prayed vocally, and one must meditate upon the Mysteries of the Rosary. If the recita on of the Rosary is public, the Mysteries of the Rosary must be announced. If the above condi ons are not fulfilled, the Indulgence is only par al. 7 Christ First Teens Hit The Road With HEART! The Christ First Teens along with two adult chaperones, le last Sunday, July 23rd, to be God s hands once again, at Catholic HEART Work Camp. The Religious Educa on Office will be open every Sunday during August. Enter by way of the far southwest door of the School Building. The Religious Educa on Office is down the hall a bit on the right side. Classes are for Pre-School through High School. Classes start Sunday, September 10th, and Monday, September 11th. Come, bring your whole family, spend some me with the Lord, and receive His blessings! He is wai ng for you! Ten Commandments Group Study Being Offered This Summer! Jesus said, If you love Me, you will keep My Commandments. ( John 14:15). But what does that mean? How well do you know the Commandments? Would you like to gain a deeper understanding of them? The plan is to take one Commandment each week, and dive deeper into its meaning with a group of friends this summer. We gather on Tuesday Evenings in the Holy Child Center (house on the east side of the Church) from 7:30-9PM (study follows Outdoor Sta ons of the Cross from 6:30-7:15PM.) You do not have to come every week to be part of the group study. There is no fee to par cipate, you just need to bring a Catechism Of The Catholic Church with you each week. If you do not already own a copy, you can pick one up at almost any bookstore or online book retailer. A free online version is available as well on: The Catechism Of The Catholic Church is a wonderful resource to explain the Commandments, and other teachings of the Church. By reading and discussing it together, we will all gain a much deeper understanding of what it means to love God and love others.
