Anointing of the Sick: If facing surgery, dealing with a chronic illness, serious accident or nearing the end of life, notify the parish office if you would like Fr. Erbacher to administer Anointing of the Sick. Sacrament of Baptism: Baptisms will take place the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month with Fr. Erbacher or Deacon John. Who is Our Lady of Fatima? On May 13th, 1917 three children were playing games in the field while tending their sheep. Suddenly they saw a flash of light. Thinking it to be lightning, the children gathered the sheep and started for home. They took refuge under a tree about a hundred yards away. They saw a flash of light again. They began running when they saw standing over a small hemlock tree, a Lady dressed in white more brilliant than the sun. That was the beginning of Our Blessed Mother at Fatima. She visited the children six times, always on the 13 th of the next consecutive six months, bringing them messages for the world. In all Her appearances at Fatima, Our Mother repeatedly emphasized the necessity of praying the Rosary daily, of wearing the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel and of performing acts of reparation and sacrifice for the souls of sinners and for world peace. The people of the town did not believe the children, so on October 13 th the crowd followed the children to the field where it was pouring down raining, when out of nowhere the bright sun began to dance in the sky and within moments everything became dry. Sunday School during the 10:00am Mass in the Social Hall Basement. **Please return your clean, empty soup jugs/containers to the parish office. We will store them until next year s picnic. Call for information. The St. Vincent de Paul Store needs a part time employee to work as cashier and sort donations. This person would work 2-3 days a week plus alternating Saturdays. Candidate must be able to work with the public and represent St. Vincent de Paul in a professional manner. We also need someone to bale clothes and move donations a few hours per day, Tuesday thru Friday, and 7 hours on Saturday. Our employees are not permitted to purchase and resell donated items. Application are available at the St. Vincent de Paul Store in Jasper. Saint Joseph Parish, Jasper, is hosting a 12 week Surviving Divorce program now to November 27, 6:30-8:00pm, at the Saint Joseph Ministry House. The cost of the program is $15 and includes the Surviving Divorce Personal Guide and all program materials. Fees may be waived with financial hardships. It is open to both men and women.
