Sacrament of Baptism: The joy of having children is fully realized in their Baptism within the faith community. Call the Parish Office regarding Baptism appointments. Sacrament of Marriage: Parishioners who wish to be married at St. Mary Church are asked to contact the parish office six months prior to setting a date. This will provide time for prayer, preparation and paperwork. Homebound Parishioners: Communion calls are made on Monday mornings to parishioners homes. Call the parish office if you would like a visit from our Eucharistic Minister. Gift Bearers: If you would like to carry up the gifts during Mass, please let the Ushers know. 3 Prayer to Remember 9/11 Heavenly Father, on this day, a terrible act of brutality was visited upon our people. We ask for your grace upon the souls of those who died this day, and the loved ones they left behind. Bless those who, today, work unceasingly to protect us all from further acts of violence. Change the hearts and minds of those who would murder the innocent in your name. Help us to remember Christ's victory over all death. Lead us all to you, Lord, in a true unity, begotten not of blood that was shed in anger, but shed by your Son, out of love for us. Amen. Wedding Banns Jake Brown & Kyra Terwiske Pub III Top soil is needed for our cemetery. This fall, we will be seeding/ reseeding some of the graves and good soil would really be helpful. Vocation Chalice - A different family each week takes home the Vocation Chalice and a binder containing prayers and vocation stories of priests, religious, deacons and seminarians to pray for vocations. Renee Cunningham to Celebrate 50th Jubilee The public is invited to join Sr. M. Renee Cunningham, LCM as she celebrates her 50th Jubilee of entrance into religious life on Sunday, September 11, at St. Joseph Church in Jasper. Mass will be at 2:00pm with a reception immediately following until 5:00pm at St. Joseph Parish Center. Have you ever been interested in joining the Catholic Church or have a friend or relative who might be interested? The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process whereby people gather to explore the Catholic faith and make a decision whether or not they would like to be initiated into full communion with the church. This bible verse is very true right now for our parish. We have many children and young adults who are eager to grow in their faith, but are in need of adults to help them in this journey. Our religious education program will be starting up soon and we are in need of Catechists for Wednesday evening high school and middle school students and we also need some leaders for the Children s Liturgy of the Word and Sunday School on Sunday mornings during the 9:15am Mass. Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition (SWICACC) provides a safe reporting location for children that are victims of abuse. The organization works with community based multi -disciplinary teams to provide support, promote justice, and help prevent violence. SWICACC is the only organization that provides child advocacy services within the seven county region. They conducted 280 interviews in 2015 and 170+ so far in Please support this organization to ensure quality services for our children. The annual SWICACC Rick Magill Memorial 5K fundraiser is September 17. Registrations and donations can be made online at Children in Dubois county need you to be their voice! Court Appointee Special Advocates are community volunteers trained to represent the best interests of children who are part of the court system due to abuse or neglect. Over 150 Dubois County children need a CASA each year. We currently have children on a waiting list. You can be a CASA if you are over age 21, have 5-10 hours a month to give and want to make a difference in the life of a child.
