2 St. Mary Church Mass Schedule Saturday 4:30pm Sunday 7:00am & 10:00am Tuesday at 6:00pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:30am *When there is a funeral, there is no weekday morning scheduled Mass. Confessions First Friday 6:45-7:10am Saturday 3:30-4:10pm or by appointment at any time. *On Saturday when there is a wedding, there will be no confessions. Anointing of the Sick: If facing surgery, dealing with a chronic illness, serious accident or nearing the end of life, notify the parish office if you would like Fr. Erbacher to administer Anointing of the Sick. Sacrament of Baptism: Baptisms will take place the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month with Fr. Erbacher. Call the Parish Office to make an appointment. Sacrament of Marriage: Parishioners who wish to be married at St. Mary Church are asked to contact the parish office no later than six months prior to their wedding date. This will provide time for prayer, preparation and paperwork. Homebound Parishioners: Communion calls are made on Tuesday mornings to parishioners homes. 3 Do young children really need to go to confession? After all, how much sin can they really have? Ask any parent about their children and see how many would say that they are perfect angels! Parents know that kids do wrong things and know they are doing it! Sometimes what children consider sinful might not be considered sinful to an adult. But most young people, when asked, can easily explain why something is wrong and why they did it. Confession for children can be a great way to help them form their consciences, make better choices in the future, and grow in their understanding of sin and how it affects others. Most importantly, they learn the value of forgiveness, both received and given. Confession, and the other sacraments, forms the spiritual life and helps children connect everyday things with their relationship to God. With confession comes hope, forgiveness, and a new start. It also helps them understand God's unconditional love and helps them develop a sense of self worth that transcends their failings. Not bad for an Our Father or two! Peace in the Mourning is a Christ focused healing retreat for widows of any age, circumstance, and faith. Please consider a weekend made for mending hearts. Divine Providence Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel Hours that are currently open: 2nd & 4th Tuesday of Month at 1:00-2:00am Fridays at 3:00-4:00am 2nd Saturday of Month at 11:00pm-12:00am If there are two times listed for an adoration time, example 1st & 3rd Sundays, and you only want to do one time per month, that would help out a lot. The Ireland Historical Society will present its first program of 2019 on Sunday, February 17, at 1:30pm in the Society Building. The military veterans of the Ireland High School Class of 1967 will provide an educational view of their experiences while they were in the service of our country. Thirteen men of the class, comprising over 65% of the males of the class, served in the military in the Army, Navy or Marines. Eleven of the men are still living. We hope to have a good showing of this group. All military veterans, past and present, are especially invited to attend. As always the public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be available after the program. Job Opening: Director of Multi-Parish Youth Ministry St. John Bosco Youth Ministry The full-time Director of St. John Bosco Youth Ministry will develop, coordinate and oversee a comprehensive youth ministry program as outlined by the USCCB in the Renewing the Vision document. This Director will be a spirit-filled individual who is able to lead, inspire and motivate youth and adult volunteers in their relationship with Jesus Christ. This position requires stellar communication skills, evenings/ weekends, a highly organized and energetic personality and someone who is passionate about leading youth in their Catholic faith. St. John Bosco Youth Ministry reaches out to youth in grades 6 through 12 at St. Mary, Holy Family, Precious Blood and St. Joseph Parishes. Local school involvement/ministry is required. Accountability with programming will be held with the Finance Board, the Bosco Chaplain and the CORE Leadership Team. The director will also supervise and guide an administrative assistant and middle school youth minister. The Unveiled Marriage Preparation program is for those couples who are engaged to be married. Important topics are discussed in the context of Catholic marriage. The next Unveiled programs are April 12 & 13 and September 7. Engaged couples are highly encouraged to attend one of these weekends.
