3 Campaign Corner This weekend is our Commitment Weekend for the Stewards of God s Grace Capital Campaign. It will be one of our final opportunities to reach out to all families to ensure that everyone has had the chance to participate in this very important cause. During Mass, you will be asked to complete the pledge card. If you have already donated or pledged to the campaign thank you so much!! Please continue to pray for the success of the campaign. But if you have not yet made a pledge, this is your opportunity to help us finish the campaign on a very strong and positive note. Your sacrifice $50/month or $100/month will go a long way toward securing the future of our parish and diocese. Thank you, once again, to everyone who has been a part of this campaign! MAY CROWNING - MAY 6TH - ST HENRY 7:30 MASS We honor the Virgin Mary as the "Queen of May" by having a May Crowning. All children are invited to participate. Please bring freshly cut flowers to place in front of the Mary statue. The children will gather in the back of the church, process in with Fr Jack and place their freshly cut flower in the vase. PICNIC WITH THE BISHOP Attention young people! Join others for a relaxing evening with Bishop Siegel on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 4 PM at St. John Parish, Daylight. Anyone in high school or older is welcome to attend. We ll have Mass, presentations by priests, religious brothers and sisters and lay church ministers, followed by supper and some time to have fun. CAMP MARIAN SAVE THE DATE Who: Girls 6th--9th Grade (Fall 2018) When: June 11, 4:00 PM June 13, 4:30 PM What: The girls will participate in games, crafts, swimming, and archery. They sleep in tents on monastery grounds. They will also pray together and learn about influential Benedictine Saints. GRADUATING SENIORS A reminder to RSVP for the Graduation Mass on May 20th. The masses will be celebrated at Saint Henry during the 7:30 AM Mass and at Saint Ferdinand at 10 AM. Receptions will be held at each respective location following Mass. Students are encouraged to attend Mass at the church in which they normally worship. Please RSVP by May 1st. The organization has its own certified cook who plans and leads the preparation of the meal at the Ozonam Hall in Jasper, but they need people to help serve the meal. If you would like to volunteer to help serve a meal with fellow Christ the King parishioners on May 12th, please contact Terri Bell tebell@psci.net or DIOCESAN POLICY: REPORT AND INFORM The Diocese of Evansville has in place a policy that requires that any allegation of child abuse must be reported to civil authorities. If an allegation involves the sexual abuse of a minor by diocesan personnel, the Victim Assistance Coordinator must also be informed. Sexual misconduct violates human dignity and the mission of the church. The spiritual well-being of all victims, their families, and others in the community is of particular concern to the church. 6 BAPTISMS Christ the King Parish invites you to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism of your child. Please contact Jane at , Ext. 127, to register for the session, set up a Baptismal date, any questions or to register your child. UPCOMING PRE-BAPTISM SESSIONS The next Pre-Baptism Session is June 21 st at 6:30 PM in the Spiritual Life Center. In order to have your first baby Baptized, you must attend one of these sessions. To register, please contact the Parish Office at Baptisms are not done during Advent and Lent. WEDDINGS When planning your wedding, checking for church availability should be your first step. Contact Jane at the Parish Office to reserve your special day. After the date is okay d with Fr. Jack and the non-refundable deposit has been received, the date will then be put into the books. Approximately 6 months before the wedding, contact the office to set a time to start marriage preparation sessions.
