2 St. Mary Church Mass Schedule Saturday 4:30pm Sunday 7:00am and 10:00am Tuesday at 6:00pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:30am *There will be no morning Mass on funeral mornings. Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. Mary Church First Friday 7:00-7:25am Saturday 3:30-4:10pm *On Saturdays when there are weddings, there will be no confessions. Anointing of the Sick: Notify the parish office if there is a need for Fr Erbacher to administer Anointing of the Sick. Sacrament of Baptism: Baptisms will take place the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month with Fr. Erbacher or Deacon John. Call the Parish Office to make an appointment. Sacrament of Marriage: Parishioners who wish to be married at St. Mary Church are asked to contact the parish office six months prior to setting a date. This will provide time for prayer, preparation and paperwork. Homebound Parishioners: Communion calls are made on Monday mornings to parishioners homes. Call the parish office if you would like a visit from our Eucharistic Minister. Gift Bearers: If you would like to carry up the gifts at offertory, please let the ushers know. Another way to make sure your tithing is coming to St. Mary is to go electronic. This can be by electronic check payment from your bank or by ACH through the parish office. 3 From the Desk - of - the - Pastor, My recent trip to New Orleans (July 10-14) was most enjoyable and relaxing. Attending Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans gave me a great love of the city and the tasty southern food. My birthday, July 18, thanks to many of you who sent me birthday cards and kinds words of greetings, all were truly appreciated I am enjoying very much my assignment here at St. Mary, among meeting almost daily, someone new, the family ties and your great Catholic faith, is a real treasured jewel! And finally, with great eagerness and enthusiasm do I look forward in leading you to build the new St. Mary Church Thanks and God Bless.. Fr. Erbacher (Effie). The back of the Community Center will be open Monday through Friday 7:30am until 4:00pm. St. John Bosco Catholic Youth Ministry reaches out to youth in grades six through twelve from Holy Family Parish, Precious Blood Parish, St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary Parish. We invite young people to receive Jesus Christ s love and mercy through experiences, relationships, and prayer. We challenge young people to grow in personal relationships with Jesus Christ and one another as we encounter the life and mission of our Catholic faith community and become disciples of Jesus Christ to share the good news with our world. High School Youth Nights will be Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30pm at the Bosco House (when the school years begins). Wednesday Faith Minute video clip on Instagram and Facebook to offer encouragement and inspiration on the go. August 5: Strassenfest Wettlauf 5K - Bosco fundraiser - lots of help needed that day and August 3 & 4. August 13: Teen Mass and pizza at Precious Blood at 6:00pm. All are welcome. August 24: Adult Leadership for Bosco meeting at Jasper Engines Training Facility. All current and possible new volunteers are welcome. The more help we have the better our ministry is and the more we get to offer our young people. November 16-18: NCYC - National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis. St Mary Church Picnic - September 10 St. Mary Quilt Show will be Thursday, August 24, noon to 6:00pm. Tell your family and friends. If you have a group quilt at home, please bring it to the parish office so we can get ready for the quilt show. Group quilt money can be sent in at any time. A $35 donation is all it takes - no quilting required. Grab Bags - Start looking for summer bargains - you can drop these items off at the parish office. Check out Walgreens and CVS summer clearance sales. Country Store - We have room in our freezers for fruit for the goodies that are made for the country store or make your jelly and we will store that until picnic time. Look for bargains on sugar, flour, nuts and throw away pans. We will be glad to store these items too. When making your summer time relish, make a couple extra for picnic Theme Baskets - Start thinking about your theme baskets. Some ideas: car care, movie baskets, gift cards basket, cooking basket, game baskets, homemade jelly and jam basket, etc. We have had so many great baskets in the past, looking forward to this year s picnic theme basket ideas. Volunteers - If you are available to work an additional shift, there are some stands that could possibly use extra help. Great way to get to know parishioners! Stand Chairmen - Please check with your workers and update your list. If you need more help, contact the parish office. There is a trailer in the parking lot for you to bring your aluminum cans when you come to church or as you are driving by to go to work. Keep our parish in mind when you have your summer parties. Money raised from this project will go to the building of the new church. The Building For Our Future Campaign would like to reach out to former parishioners who might have an interest in giving to the new church. If you have a friend or relative who you think might be interested in making a donation, please let the parish office know either by phone or what address we could send them some information. Sweet Corn for Sale!! Tom Miller will be selling sweet corn at $3 per dozen. All proceeds will go toward the new church. Call Tom at to place your order. St. Mary serves the Community Meal the first Saturday of August, November, February and May. Please pray about becoming involved in this ministry. Ireland Elementary kids will begin classes on Tuesday, August 15th and Middle School/High School classes will begin Wednesday, September 13th. More Catechists are always needed and welcomed to join our team. We have a great number of youth that attend our program. If you are interested, please contact Martha at mjschmitt@evdio.org or call , ext 45. It is very rewarding to be able to pass on the Catholic faith to our youth. Lessons plans are ready for you and very easy to follow. If you feel you are not qualified, just know that God does not always call the equipped - He equips the called Brute Society Nominations St Mary Parish is looking for nominations of parishioners to receive the Brute Award from this parish. Because of our size, we can have 3 individuals/couples win this award. Criteria for section should include: 1. A lifestyle that is in harmony with the teachings of the Catholic faith. 2. An exceptional commitment to the principles of good stewardship. This is usually shown over a period of time through selfless giving of time, talent, and/or treasure to the life and work of a parish. 3. An individual or couple whom fellow parishioners would be proud to have represent their parish by being accepted as members of The Brue Society. Please send or your nominations to Fr. Erbacher or drop it off at the parish office. Nominations are due by August 14 and will be voted on at the August parish council meeting.

Join the Diocesan Choir for the upcoming permanent Diaconate Ordination that will take place on Saturday, August 5, at 10:00am CDT at St. Benedict Cathedral. The Diocesan Choir is open to anyone in the 8th grade and older.
