2 St. Mary Church Mass Schedule Saturday 4:30pm Sunday 7:00am and 10:00am Monday at 7:30am Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - No Mass Priest Convocation Friday at 7:30am *There will be no morning Mass on funeral mornings. Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. Mary Church First Friday 7:00-7:20am Saturday 3:30-4:10pm *On Saturday when there is a wedding, there will be no confessions. Anointing of the Sick: Notify the parish office if there is a need for Fr. Erbacher to administer Anointing of the Sick. Sacrament of Baptism: Baptisms will take place the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month with Fr. Erbacher or Deacon John. Call the Parish Office to make an appointment. Sacrament of Marriage: Parishioners who wish to be married at St. Mary Church are asked to contact the parish office six months prior to setting a date. This will provide time for prayer, preparation and paperwork. Homebound Parishioners: Communion calls are made on Monday mornings to parishioners homes. Call the parish office if you would like a visit from our Eucharistic Minister. 3 St. John Bosco Youth Ministry St. John Bosco Catholic Youth Ministry reaches out to youth in grades six through twelve from Holy Family, Precious Blood, St. Joseph and St. Mary. JMS Youth Mornings are every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at JMS, in Mrs. Venderley s room, when school is in session. Donuts and faith encouragement before school starts. High School Youth Nights are a time of answering the hard parts about our faith, growing in our relationship with Jesus, hanging out with friends and of course, snacks are provided. High school teens will not only learn about their faith but they will also find out a little bit of what their personal mission is in life. Whether you are just starting college or you have returned as a senior, your Bosco and Parish family wants you to know we are thinking of you and praying for you as you head off to college! For the first time, we are planning to send Bosco Care Packages to our college students at the beginning of Advent. Would you like to receive one? St. Mary s Parish Representative for the Bosco Core Team is Brad Leinenbach. Brad is open to feedback and ideas. The Ireland Volunteer Firemen are looking for volunteers, men or women, over the age of 21, to become firemen/first responders. Some classes are required. A great way to give back to the Ireland community and surrounding area. Contact any firemen or call and leave a message. If you are interested in filling any of these hours, please contact the number or send an or dp@adorationmanager.com. 3rd Sunday of the month 3:00-4:00pm The Adoration Chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is located in the Parish Center on the campus of Precious Blood Parish. Please spend an hour with Jesus. There are 2 books available in the back of church that you are welcome to pick up and use during the month of October - Give Us This Day and One Bread, One Body. Get closer to God through prayer, daily reflection and Mass texts. As we pray, so we believe, so we live. Books compliments of St. Mary Parish. Massive Chili Fire The Vocation Office of the Diocese of Evansville is sponsoring the annual Massive Chili Fire. It will be Saturday, October 21, at Christ the King Church in Evansville (3109 Bayard Park Drive). This is a gathering for young adults (ages 13-35) to get together with priests and religious for Mass, some chili and a fire. 4 This Week s Parish Events Sunday [10/01]: Sunday School during the 10:00am Mass. All children in Pre-School, Kindergarten and 1st Grade can attend. Bring your children to the Social Hall Library. No registration required. Volunteers are welcome. Monday [10/02]: Mass will be celebrated at 7:30am. (There will be no Mass on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday because of the Priest Convocation) Quilting in the rectory basement at 5:00pm. More quilters are needed and welcome to come. Crave Bible Study is studying the Book of Revelation at 6:15-8:00pm in the upstairs of the Social Hall. Servants of the Holy Spirit at 7:00pm in the Library. Ireland K of C 20/20 at 8:00pm. Tuesday [10/03]: Choir Practice at 6:30pm. New members welcome. Wednesday [10/04]: Rosary at 11:30am in the church. Quilting noon to 4:00pm in the rectory basement. St Anne s Sewing 6:00pm in the Rectory basement. Religious Education 6:00-7:00pm for middle school students and 7:15-8:15pm for high school students. Thursday [10/05]: Friday [10/06]: First Friday Confessions 7:00am to 7:20am. Mass will be celebrated at 7:30am. The Lucky Irish and Fighting Irish 4-H Clubs will be having their annual Banquet on Sunday, October 8, at 11:00am at the St. Mary Community Center. This year s banquet will include breakfast for members and their family. 4-H members and Exploring 4-H members are free. Others will be $9 (ages 4 and over). Please turn in your RSVP and check your s. Some changes will be made for the Ireland 4-H program. Come to the banquet and find out what is happening. K of C Priests, Deacon, and Religious Vocations Appreciation Dinner - The K of C Councils of Dubois and Spencer counties invite you to show your appreciation for the Priests, Deacons and Religious who serve in the local parishes. The dinner is Tuesday, October 24 at the Huntingburg Event Center. Doors open at 6:30pm. You can purchase tickets through the parish office. Tickets are $20 per person - deadline to buy tickets is October 1st. St. Anne Society Members - We will be hosting a Fundraiser Breakfast for the Building for Our Future new church fund. Building For Our Future Colts Ticket Update - Thank you to the parishioners who donated the Colts/Steelers Tickets for the new church fund. After taking out the ticket printing expense, we made over $3, This will not show up on the picnic report because this money went into our building fund account. Thanks again for the ticket donation and for all who bought tickets and worked the booth. Cans for Campaign - There is a trailer in the parking lot for you to drop off your aluminum cans. Money raised from this project will go to the building of the new church. The Building For Our Future Campaign would like to reach out to former parishioners who might have an interest in giving to the new church. If you have a friend or relative who you think might be interested in making a donation, please let the parish office know. We will be glad to get information out to them. We have embroidered St. Mary Church hats for sale in the parish office. Stop by and pick one up - $5 per hat. Thank you to everyone who has made their payments. Our total money collected continues to grow - watch the board in the front of church. No date on ground breaking yet, but we will keep you updated.

The nonprofit hospice provider needs patient support volunteers in those areas and will offer free training on Thursday, October 12, 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Jasper Public Library. Snacks/lunch will be provided. A Spanish term meaning Onward October 9 there will be a meeting at St. Joseph Parish Center. Ultreya begins at 7:00pm in St. Joseph Parish Center Chapel and concludes by 8:15pm on the second Monday of each month. All Cursillistas and guests are welcome. Trained facilitators will lead the program on February 17-18, 2018, April 28-29, 2018 and September 8-9, 2018 at the Sarto Retreat Center. Cost of the program is $205 and runs from 7:15-7:30am on Saturday to Sunday at 3:00pm. All engaged couples are encouraged to attend one of these weekends before getting married.
