4 Together Let Us Cause God Joy Today is May 8, 2016, the Seventh Sunday of Easter and the Feast of The Ascension of the Lord. The Responsorial Psalm is, The Lord is king, the most high over all the earth. (Psalm 97:1-2,6-7,9) Or if we use the Ascension readings this Sunday, God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord. (Psalm 47:2-3,6-7,8-9) Either Gospel lets us know that the Lord promised to return to us. Next Saturday is First Holy Communion and next Sunday is Pentecost. This year sure is flying by. She feels a major benefit of being a member of our faith community is the ability to help one another through prayer, which can bring comfort and healing to both body and soul by inviting God to heal us and those we love. Debbie emphasizes, Remember we are a family. We are here for each other in good times and in bad. We embrace Our Lord through the power of prayer seeking His comfort and guidance. Prayer Tree ministry members pray from their homes for the needs of our parishioners and their loved ones. 6 May 8, 2016 Dear St. Ann Parish Family, Happy Mothers Day! Wishing a very happy and blessed Mothers Day to ALL of our mothers and grandmothers in the parish and school, as well as to all who act as mothers to us, loving us each and every day. (And to those of us who have our mothers in Heaven, an extra hug to you from me.) This month we will start our school days by praying a decade of the Rosary each morning in honor of our Blessed Mother, Mary. Prayer will be led over our public address system by our second and eighth graders. Congratulations to our 8 th Graders on Being Confirmed What a beautiful Confirmation Mass we had on Thursday, April 28 with Bishop Joseph Perry. In addition, you may have seen a few new Eucharistic Ministers recently at church. Indeed, the Holy Spirit has already guided many students in the Class of 2016 to become Eucharistic Ministers. So proud of these young students and the disciples they have become. Awards Night Wednesday Our Junior High Awards Night will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in. Students will be recognized for scholastic achievement, for service opportunities, as well as for leadership in sporting events.
