4 Together Let Us Cause God Joy Today is the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Responsorial Psalm is, Blessed are those who fear the Lord. (Psalm 128:1-2,3,4-5) The Gospel from St. Matthew talks about the talents: he who had five traded and got five more, and the one with two got two more, but the servant with only one talent buried it, the talent was taken from him and he was sent away. GIGGLES Life after Death: Do you believe in life after death? a Boss asked one of his employees. Yes, Sir, the new employee replied. Well then, that makes everything just fine, the boss went on. After you left early yesterday to go to your Grandmother s funeral, she stopped in to see you! Palm Sunday: It was Palm Sunday and Johnny stayed home with a sore throat. When his mom came home carrying several Palm Branches, the boy asked what they were for. People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by. Wouldn t you know it, the boy fumed. The one Sunday I don't go, He shows up! First Time Ushers: A little boy in church for the first time watched as the usher passed around the offertory basket. When they came near his pew, the boy said loudly, Don't pay for me Daddy, I m under five. Children's Sermon: One Easter Sunday morning, as the priest was preaching the sermon, he reached into his bag of props and pulled out an egg and asked, What's in here? I know! responded one little boy. Pantyhose! Supporting a Family: The prospective father-in-law asked, Young man, can you support a family? The surprised groom-to-be replied, Well no, I was just planning to support your daughter. The rest of you will have to be on your own. Today is the Women s Club Bake Sale. 6 November 15-16, 2014 Dear St. Ann Parish Family, First Quarter Accolades! Congratulations to all of our students who achieved first quarter honors. I am very proud of their achievement, and I know you are, too. God is at work in our building deep inside the hearts of our children, teachers and staff. It s a Bird It s a Plane It s Super Hero Day on Friday! This week we will celebrate Super Hero Day, sponsored by our Student Council. In addition to dressing as caped crusaders with bright red capes saving the day, we will acknowledge all of the super heroes in our lives who wear invisible capes and save the day in quieter ways. These super heroes include our first responders, fire department, police department, and members of our Armed Services. Additional super heroes include priests, nuns, doctors, nurses, caregivers, parents, teachers, friends and you, our St. Ann parishioners. Let s also remember and give thanks for the GREATEST super hero of all, our Lord, who gave His life so we could live. Supper Club This month s tasty event will be held at Five Guys in Munster on November 20 th from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. with 25% of your check donated back to St. Ann School when using a voucher. Additional vouchers are available online at Giving Thanks Mrs. Zackavec s Kindergarteners (or shall I say our young Native Americans and Pilgrims) will gather in the school hall on Wednesday for a Thanksgiving Feast. We are grateful for our kindergarten moms and dads who will be assisting in preparing this special feast. Just like the first Thanksgiving, our Kindergarten children will gather at a table and give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon them.
