4 Together Let Us Cause God Joy Today is the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time, and the Responsorial Psalm is, Lord, I love your commands; Lord I love your commands. The Gospel according to St. Matthew, Chapter 13 is about what we do with the treasures that God gives us. POPE FRANCIS MAKES A REQUEST Weep not for what you have lost; fight for what you have. Weep not for what is dead; fight for what was born in you. Weep not for the one who abandoned you; fight for who is with you. Weep not for those who dislike you; fight for those who love you. Weep not for your past; fight for your present struggle, Weep not for your suffering; fight for your happiness. With things that are happening to us, we begin to learn that nothing is impossible to solve, just move forward. The Holy Father has made a request for prayers: Our goal is to reach 10 million Hail Marys for Pope Francis. So start today, and pray for our Pope and all of our families. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. To be eligible, both your ($5.00) and weekly collection envelopes (no limit, but at least $5) with separate payments must be in the parish office by 9:00 a.m. Monday. If you donate by check, you need to write two separate checks. Look for the winners in each bulletin, on our facebook page, or on the parish website: Don t forget to write! If you re going to be away this summer, you can place your weekly envelopes in the Sunday collection or leave them at the Parish Office before you go or upon your return. Just remember that individual envelopes need to be in before the weekly drawings if you intend to participate. The book will go on sale beginning this weekend after all Masses AND at the Parish Picnic. We will also sell them at the Parish Office during the week. Books are $25 each. If you purchased a sponsorship or memorial that included a copy of the book, you may pick it up at the table in the Narthex after weekend Masses or at the Parish Office during the week. We now offer a selection of Cash and Carry gift cards through the Parish Office. We buy the gift cards from our vendor at a discount, you pay face value for them, and the difference comes back to us to use for needed projects around St. Ann s (such as paying off our $32k snow plowing bill from this past winter). School and Religious Ed. families and their friends can also choose to designate the credits to their TRIP accounts. Registered users may pay by check or cash (forms are in the Parish Office); unregistered walk-ins must pay by cash only. 6 St. Ann 2014 penny drive pennies for plowing Winter may be over, but we re still buried, and every penny counts as we strive to drive away our 32k 2014 snow plow debt. So over the course of the summer, we invite you to help us make cents of the situation. Break open your piggy banks, dig into the couch cushions, dump out your change purses, look under the car floor mats, and empty your pockets of pennies. If you d like to unburden yourself of other larger coins (or bills, checks, etc.), we would be happy to have those as well! It might not seem like much, but one annoying little penny at a time can quickly add up to many helpful dollars if enough of us bring them in. pennies for perks We have challenged regular attendees of each weekend Mass to bring in at least 200,000 pennies over the summer, which would total $2,000 per Mass. The Mass that brings in the most money in total will win a special hospitality at the conclusion of the Drive. The final results and the winning Mass will be announced at Frankfest on September 12. keep saving those pennies! In only four weeks, we re nearly halfway to our $6,000 goal! It looks like 8:30 has decided to put an end to 4:00 s run as top-donating Mass! It was close, but for the first time, 4:00 did not bring in the most weekly money. It seems 10:30 is waiting to make its grab for glory later in the contest! The collection bottles are in the Narthex to the right of the church doors before and after every weekend Mass. Nothing formal, BYO snacks/drinks/lunch. Stop in for an hour, or hang out as long as you like (parents must stay - this isn t a drop off event). Schultz Park has a great playground, and the bigger kids might want to take advantage of the basketball or tennis courts, maybe start up a kickball game (please bring your own gear).
