4 Together Let Us Cause God Joy Today is April 23, the Second Sunday of Easter, and Divine Mercy Sunday. The Responsorial Psalm is, Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love is everlasting. (Psalm 118:2-4, 13-15, 22-24) April 22 is Earth Day. Monday is Holocaust Remembrance Day; let us pray that we never have something like the Holocaust ever happen again. COLLEGE FRESHMAN PERSPECTIVE Members of the Class of 2020 were born in To them, bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic. The CD was introduced seven years before they were born. They have always had cable. They cannot fathom not having a remote control. They never took a swim and thought about Jaws. They don't know who Mork was or where he was from. McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers. They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter or use correction tape. Do you ever sit back and think of all the developments that have happened in our lifetime? Our first TV was black and white and had about an 18 inch screen. We had fake leather kid-sized rockers, one green and one red. We only had one bathroom and two bedrooms in our house, but we had a great attic. We had a portable typewriter and one small radio. We had lots of fun in that house, playing card games and learning to share. Mass every Sunday and no excuses, or you spent the day in bed with no TV. When my dad got his first camera, he took lots of pictures and we had to wait until they were developed to see that he cut off our heads. At St. Ann, April 28-29, 2017 Our St. Ann Graffiti Youth Group will join hundreds of thousands of students in the U.S. and around the world to learn about hunger and raise funds for the hungry. They ask for both our prayers and our donations as they participate in a lock-in on April 28 and 29 to raise money for World Vision s 30 Hour Famine, while fasting throughout the event themselves. Members of Graffiti will speak at Masses this weekend to explain their mission, and they will take up a collection in the Narthex after Masses. Donations may also be sent in to the Parish Office. Form a group with family, friends, and neighbors, or participate individually. You can choose a clean-up location or have one assigned to you; garbage bags and a limited supply of gloves will be provided (please bring gloves if you have them). A BBQ lunch will be provided in Park Plaza for all volunteers after the work is done. Clean-Up Day will take place rain or shine, and you must register for this event either online at or by calling Vivian at It s important to register so the Village knows where to pick up the litter your group collects and so we have a head count for lunch.
