CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION This week, we are taking up The Catholic Relief Services Collection to respond to Jesus in disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies to provide relief and support to struggling communities and to work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection. Learn more at catholic-relief. FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Next Friday, May 5th, is First Friday and our parish day of Eucharistic Adoration. Adoration begins at 10 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and closes from 5-6 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Any questions or to sign up and commit for a specific time, please call All are invited to also attend First Friday Mass at Immaculate Conception followed by Rosary and Benediction. DONUT SUNDAY Please join us THIS SUNDAY for Donut Sunday, following Mass, in the Smith Building. This will be our last Donut Sunday until August! NEXT WEEKEND IS FIRST COMMUNION SUNDAY Please pray for all of our second graders who will receive Jesus for the first time next Sunday afternoon. We are so grateful for them and for their teachers and catechists. Pray for their families as well that their parents devote themselves to showing these young ones the way of Christ and the joy of his love!

Time to make cabbage rolls for the St Helen's Festival. Ever wonder how those delicious cabbage rolls are made. For this one time only (this year), you have a chance to learn how it is done. However, you will be sworn to secrecy. Cabbage rolling will begin at 9 am on Saturday, May 6. If you cannot start at 9 am, we can use help any time during the day until 3. Of course there will be lots of practice in making them so you will get it just right and be an expert. Please call Tom or tebrehm@aol.com if you want to participate or you can just show up. Fair Trade items will be for sale May 7th during coffee and donuts in the Smith Building. This is the last coffee and donuts until August so be sure to stop by and stock up! HELEN CHURCH RIVERSIDE, OHIO April 30, 2017 TRAINING FOR SERVERS OF ALCOHOL AT FESTIVAL, FISH FRY, AND PICNIC As part of our Risk Management plan for St. Helen s, we will be holding several Alcohol Server Training sessions over the next four weeks. Any alcohol booth chair/vice-chairs and any volunteers serving alcohol at any of these events (ie. Volunteers involved with the Festival Beer Booth, Parish Picnic, Fish Fry) must attend one of these training sessions. Nonalcohol Festival booth chairs are encouraged, but not required, to attend one of the trainings. This training will provide an overview of Ohio Liquor laws, as well as best practices for serving alcohol, which will make our parish events safer and more enjoyable for our patrons. Please plan to attend any ONE of the following training sessions. All sessions are 6:30-8 p.m., at the location indicated. CAKE BOOTH The cake booth will provide cake boards at the entrance of the church doors starting the 2nd weekend in May. We are in need of many bakers to make cakes and assorted baked goods for the cake booth. Please label all cakes. Suggestions for baked goods are brownies, fudge, cookies, buckeyes, cupcakes, and any creative surprises. We are currently creating baskets and would greatly appreciate any donations you are willing to give. You can create your own basket or let us do it for you. Although each basket is supposed to be worth at least $200 we will combine any size donation with others, so no donation is too small. Or maybe you are part of a group that would like to join together to make a basket. If you d like to create your own basket, we have information regarding what baskets have done well in the past. 6 WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CERTIFICATES Married couples celebrating a significant wedding anniversary (25, 40, 50, 60, 65, 70, 75) in 2017 are invited to request a congratulatory certificate from Archbishop Schnurr. They may request a certificate in two ways: 1. Visit the Archdiocesan Office for Marriage & Family Life Website ministries-offices/family-life/ 2. Call the Office for Marriage & Family Life x2653. These certificates will be sent to your parish in early July for distribution to couples near the Feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne (July 26).
