2 OCTOBER 21, :00am Worship Turn on the Happy Job 38:1-7 (34-41) Hebrews 5:1-10 Sunday Night Kaffee Fellowship Hall From Your Pastor... Dear Abingdon Baptist Family, As I ve aged, I ve noticed that some things don t work quite like they used to. I know that as soon as I talk about aging, I m speaking to a great many with far more on-the-job experience than I. Nonetheless, I need your help. I have discovered that my memory is somewhat less reliable than in the past. When we gather for prayer time, I try to write down the names of those mentioned to share on the church prayer list. Unfortunately, I don t get every name recorded. Even worse, many times I can t remember who made the request and their relationship to that person. The result is that I am not the most reliable reporter for the prayer list. That means that often I am unable to get that information to our secretaries to go on our prayer list. Some years ago, we relied on information gathered on slips of paper and that seemed to work rather well. So, we re going back to that. On Wednesday nights and at Sunday evening Kaffee, we ll make those slips of paper once again so that we can get the most reliable information about your loved ones. You don t have to wait until Sunday or Wednesday nights, either. Those slips will be scattered around so that anytime you want to place someone on our prayer list, just fill one out and drop it in the offering plate or leave one in the office. Also, feel free to any requests that you might have to the secretaries. I really appreciate your help and look forward to sharing your concerns with the congregation at large and in my personal prayers for your needs. I can t wait to see you Sunday. Your pastor, Steven
