2 MAY 22, :00am Worship Baptism Could You be a Martyr? Acts 7:55-60 Gospel John 14:1-14 6:00pm Sunday Night Café led by Ken Russell Faith and Practice: Separation of Church and State Phrases from Parke... SADDLE RIDGE RANCH YEAR-END ROUND-UP will be next Wednesday evening, May 25 th at 6:00pm. Come join our preschoolers and children as they share from their adventures on the Saddle Ridge Ranch. Each of our graded choirs Music for Threes, Cherubs, Music Makers, and Young Musicians will be singing several of their favorite selections. Certificates will be given to each child who participated. Our Hearts of Gold (senior adult choir) represented our church well at the annual Senior Adult Choir Festival of Praise in Roanoke last week. We shared three of our own selections with choirs from around the state and then sang in a massed choir with a special guest conductor, Benjamin Harlan from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The final worship experience Tuesday morning was the highlight for many. A deep sense of God s presence could be felt as we celebrated and worshipped God through music. Next year s event will be the Monday and Tuesday following Mother s Day in the Tidewater area. Mark your calendars now. May 14-15, Due to the distance, we will most likely depart on Sunday afternoon, May 13. Summer will be here soon. DownHome worship begins Sunday night June 5 th at 7:00pm. We are enlisting hosts for each Sunday night throughout the summer (through August 28). Over the past couple of years, many different folks have opened up their backyards (or the Farmer s Market Pavilion) for the church to gather for a time of worship and fellowship. Each host works with our church staff to coordinate the program and refreshments. Check your summer plans. Please call the church office soon to reserve your Sunday Night on the DownHome calendar. You will be blessed and be a blessing to others. Let s have the summer calendar filled by the first of June. Our Music Makers (grade 1-3) will be singing this Sunday Morning in worship. We will also be baptizing one of our newest members, Abby Fannin. See you Sunday, singing God s song, Parke
