Let s make Barnyard Roundup an exciting week for the children. Registration for Barnyard Roundup will be Sunday, July 17th and Sunday, July 24th from 10:00 AM to Noon in Bergan Hall. Registration Fee: $10.00/student. Bible School Staff Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at 7:00 PM in Bergan Hall. CHILDREN S BULLETINS The Children s Bulletin is a weekly child friendly worksheet on the Gospel of the day. The bulletins can be found in the back of the Church (on the food bank container.) FIRST COMMUNION & CONFIRMATION PICTURES First Communion and Confirmation pictures have arrived and can be picked up at the rectory during regular hours: Monday - Friday - 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and Sunday - 9:00 AM-Noon. Yet know this, the kingdom of God has come near. (Luke 10:10-11) Adult Where do you see the message of Christian faith begin rejected in the world today? What is your response to that? FOURTH OF JULY MASS Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM in the Church on Monday, July 4th. Please note: There will be no 7:30 AM or 12:10 PM Mass on that day. In recognition of our need to give, and the many needs of our church and parish, and in gratitude for God s gifts to us, we declare our willingness to return a portion of our Treasure to our parish, as part of our total Christian stewardship. MASS IN REMEMBRANCE OF VICTIMS OF VIOLENT OR TRAGIC DEATH The Diocese of Scranton is offering the annual Mass in remembrance of victims of violent or tragic death. This Mass is offered for the families and friends of those who have died in tragedy, especially through murder, suicide, and accident. The Mass is scheduled for Thursday, July 14th at 7:00 PM in Saint Peter s Cathedral, Scranton. All persons who have lost a loved one through tragic or traumatic death are invited to this liturgy. We ask that the names of deceased loved ones be submitted on registration forms which are available at the rectory or accessed on the Service and Social Concerns webpage on the Diocese of Scranton s website, Questions concerning this Mass may be directed to the Office for Parish Life at Sunday Tithe $12, This Week s Expenses $14, Peter s Pence Collection $1, ANNIVERSARY OF THE APPARITIONS OF FATIMA The Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima of the Scranton Diocese is sponsoring trips on July 13th and August 13th to the National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Washington, New Jersey. Cost is $30.00 per person. Bus leaves the Oblates of St. Joseph, Pittston at 8:30 AM. Enjoy the beautiful grounds, visit the gift shop, chapels and Capelinha confession, rosary procession, and Mass. Bus leaves the shrine at 3:45 PM. A dinner stop on the way home is paid individually. For information and reservations, call John Witkosky at Don t forget! Don t forget to drop off your donations at Conlan Hall on Monday, July 25th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:30 to 7:30 PM and Tuesday, July 26th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please do not include any clothing, bedding, computer monitors, televisions or furniture in your donations. Household items of all kinds including dishes, books, CD s, toys, games, small appliances, jewelry, purses and more will be gratefully accepted. Our sale begins in Conlan Hall on Thursday, July 28th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Friday, July 29th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Saturday, July 30th (Bag Day) from 8:00 AM to Noon. Bake sale and food items available for lunch. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods can drop them off Thursday or Friday between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Our pantry gets empty quicker, so again we rely on the generosity of our parishioners and friends. The food hamper has been moved to the opposite side of the vestibule. Also, CEO is unable to provide jams and jellies, so we ask for jelly contributions in July. It is so greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness to all in need. The Food Pantry Group DESIGNER PURSE BINGO Good Shepherd Academy will be hosting its first Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 24th at Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. Doors open at 11:00 AM and the bingo will begin at 1:00 PM. The cost is $25.00 for 20 games with extra special games and specials for purchase. There will be a basket raffle, Gertrude Hawk candy bars, as well as instant bingo. Food, drinks and a bake sale will also be available for purchase. Tickets are available by calling the school office at ATTENTION ALL GERRITY S & SHUR-SAVE MARKET SHOPPERS If you shop at Gerrity s or other Shur-Save Markets and have not designated your community rewards in support of St. Ignatius Parish, please call our project administer, Patti Kupetz ASAP at and give her your Gold Card number and name on the card and she will be able to register you for our parish. Watch the bulletin for ministry information. THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS This is a process the Catholic Church uses to bring adult members into the faith. Anyone interested in becoming a part of this process or in obtaining more information can call the Rectory at This journey in faith is concerned with the total formation of the person into living and serving with the Church community. BAPTISM Expectant and new parents are asked to participate in a seminar on Baptism. Please call the Rectory at Godparents are welcome to attend, though it is not required. Please call the rectory to register at your earliest convenience. The celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism is on the third Sunday of every month except during Lent. MARRIAGE Congratulations! You are asked to contact one of the parish priests at least six months before the date of your marriage so that the appropriate preparations can be made for this special celebration. VISITATION OF THE SICK Please call the office for visitation of the sick at home, in the hospital, or health care facility.
