JOSEPH PARISH, QUINCY MA Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, May the Lord give us His peace. These lazy days of summer have been anything but that for our Collaborative Family. Although, I am looking forward to taking some vacation at the beginning of August. Some of my best friends come up from Louisiana each August and we spend a week together up in Maine with other mutual friends of ours. But until then, there is lots to share! :) Visitation 20:20: These gatherings have been very fruitful for myself and Fr. Joseph. We are so grateful for the generosity of our hosts. We hope that more of you will consider joining a gathering in the next few weeks. The conversations have been very interesting and has provided all of us an opportunity to get to know people in our parish (that we only knew by face) and to learn about the history of our parish. So please come!! Memorial Donation: The Altar Bread for the week of July 15th has been donated in memory of Joseph Doyle. If you would like to make a donation for the altar bread and wine for a week in memory of a loved one or for a special intention, the donation for the week is $25.00 for the bread and $25.00 for the wine. Sunday Mass Survey: Next weekend (July 21/22) we will commence an online survey to fully engage the community about our parish Liturgies. As we look to the Fall, we will have to make some adjustments to our Mass schedules. In order to do this well, WE NEED YOUR INPUT! We are here to serve you. Holy Mass is the source and summit of our parish and collaborative life. In order to set forth the best Mass times for our Collaborative Family, we REALLY NEED YOU TO TAKE 5 MINUTES to fill out this survey. YOUR VOICE COUNTS! The survey will close on Sunday August 12. 3 FIFTEENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME Prayer Shawl Ministry; Meets on Thursdays at 2PM in the church. Please join us. All levels of skill are welcome. Please keep Lola Heiler-Stilman, our organist, in your prayers. She is very ill and would appreciate your prayers. Early Bird Special Prayer For Vocations: St Joseph's BVM Sodality has a program devoted to praying for priestly vocations. Families or individuals volunteer to take home a crucifix for one week and daily recite the prayer for vocations. This is a simple prayer to inspire men to serve God and His church and follow in His footsteps. There is a sign up sheet in the entrance of the church; Please choose the week you participate. When it is your designated week, pick up the crucifix in the sacristy on Saturday/ Sunday and sign it out. Please return and sign in by the 4 pm the following Saturday so it is available for the next family.
