4 WORSHIP COORDINATING TEAM BULLETIN UPDATE Parish Pastoral Plan Goals in the area of Worship Enhance the feeling of welcome to all who enter our church. Create a Liturgy that is a community experience, well prepared and inspiring, with enthusiastic participation. Bridge the message of the Gospel to our everyday lives. The Coordinating Team of Worship is happy to report that following our Focus Groups this past winter with Religious Education parents, we eagerly began to share their input with the other Coordinating Teams within our parish. We hope that you have seen some new things over the past several months including new events available for families and additional faith formation opportunities. Currently we are looking to make some improvements with our Liturgical Ministries and have begun conversation with parishioners who may have a new interest and willing to share their gifts and talents with the parish. A Baptismal Team will once again be a reality at our parish. A team of parents and clergy will provide young parents and Godparents with a stronger understanding of the Sacrament, give greater meaning to the responsibility of bringing a child into the Catholic Faith and give witness to our Parish Mission. We are still finalizing our plans and look forward to sharing in more detail very soon. We expect to begin in September so there is still time for parents to come forward to express your interest in this effort. Additional areas of focus for the immediate future are reestablishing the Mommy and Me group and RCIA Coordination. As information is ready to share, it will be communicated in the Bulletin and on the Parish Facebook Page. COLLECTION FOR EASTERN EUROPE - AUGUST 28TH Next week, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports Catholic organizations that provide affordable shelter and training for seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of the Soviet rule. By providing pastoral care, catechesis, and funding for building renovations, your donations help restore the Church and build the future. Please give generously to the collection next week. Please make checks payable to St. Ignatius Loyola Church as we will forward one check to the Diocese. Thank you. THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE Monday Service Team Meeting 6:30 PM Bergan Parish Center 2nd. We were working with them on a one to one basis in their own homes. Because of their disabilities, it was impossible to make these renovations themselves. Financial handicaps were also involved. The youth with us worked very hard doing necessary painting and putting up a needed fence in a veteran s backyard. This is a great experience for the youth in our parish as a valuable service project. Any youth from the age of 13 years and up are needed. We hope that more youth will join us for this trip next year. Sally McGinley, Adult Chaperone In Memoriam Frank Sanfilippo, Sr. Teach us to give and not to count the cost. Ignatius of Loyola
