Registration and breakfast from 8 to 9AM. Main program from 9AM to 5PM. The theme for the day is Pentecost and Beyond: The Flow of the River of the Holy Spirit. Guest presenter is Father Timothy Cremeens, Ph.D., pastor of Holy Resurrection Cathedral (Orthodox) in Wilkes-Barre. Registration fee is $25 per person, which includes three meals. In Memory of Genevieve Cawley By Family CATHOLIC CHORAL SOCIETY SCHEDULES SPRING CONCERTS The annual spring concerts of the Catholic Choral Society of Scranton will be presented on Friday, May 19th at 7:30 at St. Peter s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, PA. and on Sunday, May 21st at 7:00 PM. at St. Ignatius Church. On Friday evening, May 19 th, at St. Peter s Cathedral in Scranton, the Choral Society will host the Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus directed by Marty Wise as guest performers. On Sunday evening, May 21st, at St. Ignatius Church in Kingston, the Choral Society will host as guest performers the Good Shepherd Academy Senior Choir directed by Mr. Thomas J. Hanlon. The group, marking its 68 th season, is composed of 50 members from both Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties. Tickets are available from society members or by calling ; tickets are also available at the door: adults $10, seniors and students $8, children under 12 free. We encourage you to spend quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament throughout the week with a special prayer intention in mind. Just pick up a card after your visit to Church and send it off to the one in your prayer. The cards may be used on First Fridays by those attending Eucharistic Adoration. Think gospel! 4 C O M M U N I T Y G R O W I N G T O G E T H E R Page 4 MOTHER S DAY PRO-LIFE CARNATION SALE Carnations will be on sale for $1.00 each at all Masses this weekend to honor mothers both living and deceased. Flowers may be taken for gift giving or placed on the altar after Masses. Proceeds from this Mother s Day Sale will go to our local Pro-Life Center. MARY S MINISTRY MAY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MAY 16TH Our May meeting of Mary s Ministry will be held on Tuesday May 16th at 6:30 PM in Bergan Parish Center. The Rosary will be recited at 6:15 PM followed by a business/planning meeting. A final report on our operating guideline revisions, this year s activities and donations will be given. Recommendations will be taken by the leadership team for new team members and plans will also be made for next year s program of work so our calendar for can be completed before summer. 8 Page 8 ST. IGNATIUS PARISH HOLY NAME SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION GUIDELINES 2017 Instructions: 1. Applicant must be a registered member of St. Ignatius Parish. 2. All questions on the application must be answered. 3. Include a certified copy of your high school transcript indicating your courses for the first semester of the 12th grade. 4. The school Guidance Counselor or Principal needs to complete the appropriate portion of the application, including a description of the curriculum and grading system used, and indicate on the transcript those courses completed in the first semester of the 12th grade and in progress for the second semester. 5.
