1 TRAGEDY IN ORLANDO Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. - Strength to Love THE CHURCH OF S AINT I GNATIUS L OYOLA Please pray for the victims of the Orlando shooting and their families. Please pray that we have the strength to offer our assistance however we can: by donating blood, offering financial assistance, or simply sending our prayers and support. Please pray that we have the grace to break the vicious cycle of violence and darkness by responding to hatred with love. Yours in Christ, Father John, Father Alex, and Deacon John W O R D L E A R N I N G A B O U T O U R F A I T H CHILDREN S BULLETINS The Children s Bulletin is a weekly child friendly worksheet on the Gospel of the day. Registration Fee: $10.00/student. W E E K L Y M E D I T A T I O N But who do you say that I am? Jesus asks his disciples. How surprised they must have been when they learned of the suffering, death and resurrection this Christ of God would soon encounter. Knowing so well what did transpire in Jerusalem and what it all means, how would you respond to Jesus question? And, more importantly, what difference does this make to the way you live your life. A ROMAN CATHOLIC C OMMUNITY INSPIRED BY THE TRADITION OF ST. IGNATIUS, S T. HEDWIG AND S T. MARY'S ANNUNCIATION PARISHES. e, the blended Catholic community of St. Ignatius Loyola, draw strength from Word and Sacrament, W especially in the celebration of the Eucharist. Modeling Christ s work, we embrace our commitment to God s call. We remain faithful to the shared acts of prayer, study and service. Together we extend Christ s hospitality to others and light the path of peace for generations to come. Knowing God is more important than knowing about God. Karl Rahner, S.J.
