MARY'S ANNUNCIATION PARISHES. e, the blended Catholic community of St. Ignatius Loyola, draw strength from Word and Sacrament, W especially in the celebration of the Eucharist. Modeling Christ s work, we embrace our commitment to God s call. We remain faithful to the shared acts of prayer, study and service. UNDERSTANDING OUR CATHOLIC FAITH PARADISO, PURGATORIO, INFERNO! What do you know about Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell? When you picture the afterlife, odds are the images that first pop up in your mind don t come from the Bible at all, but from the imaginative work of fiction, The Divine Comedy, written by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. Wednesday, December 2nd from 7 to 8 PM in Bergan Hall Fr. Chase Pepper, CSC will offer us some insights into this monumental work of Italian literature in Dante and the Divine Comedy: A Companion for the Year of Mercy. No commitment, no registration, just show up! W E E K L Y M E D I T A T I O N How wonderful it is to celebrate this joyous day. To know that God sent His only son to become the Son of Man; He brought the message of salvation to us by becoming one of us. The alpha and the omega. The crucified and the resurrected. The all-powerful king, not by force and battles but through works of mercy, by healing the sick, feeding the hungry and teaching forgiveness. As we contemplate His life and teachings, may we be guided by his example and imitate His deeds in our daily lives. Don t forget! Food Collection each and every weekend at the vestibules of Church and Chapel.

GENERATIONS SING CONCERT - ST. PETER S CATHEDRAL NOVEMBER 22 ND AT 7:30 PM The Catholic Choral Society will present the 14 th Generations Sing Concert on Sunday evening, November 22nd at 7:30PM at St. Peter's Cathedral in Scranton, Pa. As in past years, this year s celebration concert strives to celebrate both ecumenical diversity and multigenerational singers. The Catholic Choral Society, marking its 68 th season, is composed of more than 50 members from Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties. The Generations Sing concert originated 14 years ago at the request of Monsignor Joseph Quinn, then pastor of St Peter s Cathedral in Scranton, as a part of its sesquicentennial celebration. Monsignor Quinn and the sesquicentennial committee decided that a concert celebrating both ecumenical diversity and multigenerational singers would be an appropriate motif for the occasion. Since that first presentation, the CCS has hosted singing groups of all ages from public and private school throughout Luzerne and Lackawanna counties, presenting four or five different age groups at each concert. This year The Catholic Choral Society will both sing and host the following choral groups: Elementary School: Good Shepherd Academy students, Raphael Micca, director; Middle School: Kantorei Choir of the Choral Society of NEPA, Leslie Moran, director; High School: Wyoming Valley West High School, Bernard Gardzalla, director; College: University of Scranton, Cheryl Boga (director) Ann Manganiello is the music director of the Catholic Choral Society; Jean Shields is the accompanist. Dr. Thomas Rittenhouse and Brenda L. Grunza are co-presidents of the of the Catholic Choral Society. All are invited to attend; there is no admission charge, however, the opportunity for supporting the concert through a free will offering will be available.
