Interested in learning about the spiritual journey of our pastor, Fr. John Chmil? Ever wonder how a priest thinks, prays, and finds inspiration? Join us on Wednesday, May 4th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in Bergan Hall (335 N. Maple Ave.) as Fr. John shares a little bit of his spirituality and his experiences of life as a diocesan priest. It is a different style of talk, but could be a great opportunity to get to hear a little bit from our pastor. As always, no reservations, just show up and enjoy! UNDERSTANDING OUR CATHOLIC FAITH - PRAYER! Our adult faith formation video this month comes from Bishop Robert Barron s Catholicism Series and is titled - The Fire of His Love: Prayer and the Life of the Spirit. Wednesday, May 11th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in Bergan Hall (335 N. Maple Ave.) All are welcome, no registration required. UNDERSTANDING OUR CATHOLIC FAITH - ADVANCE NOTICE FOR JUNE! Because of Memorial Day weekend we will be doing something different for the month of June. Dr. Thomas Hamill will discuss a short story from Phil Klay s acclaimed collection of stories about the experience of Iraq War veterans, Redeployed, entitled Prayer in the Furnace following a Catholic chaplain on TUESDAY, June 7th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in Bergan Hall (335 N. Maple Ave.) Copies of the story will be available in the back of the church starting in May. Our video will still be viewed the following day, Wednesday, June 8th. W E E K L Y M E D I T A T I O N People of faith have the ability to see more than the circumstances they face. Our God is not distant, but a neighbor who lives with us. He teaches us that with faith, we can see glasses as half full and problems as opportunities. Life is full of trials. We are all challenged by them. Today, Jesus instructs us to Love one another, as I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is the final commandment. So simple, yet so profound. In our own lives, how will we humbly fulfill this responsibility? How will we show our discipleship? With faith and our knowledge that God loves us, we can see our way through. Don t forget! Food Collection each and every weekend at the vestibules of Church and Chapel.
