1 THE CHURCH OF S AINT I GNATIUS L OYOLA A ROMAN CATHOLIC C OMMUNITY INSPIRED BY THE TRADITION OF ST. IGNATIUS, S T. HEDWIG AND S T. MARY'S ANNUNCIATION PARISHES. W e, the blended Catholic community of St. Ignatius Loyola, draw strength from Word and Sacrament, especially in the celebration of the Eucharist. Modeling Christ s work, we embrace our commitment to God s call. We remain faithful to the shared acts of prayer, study and service. Together we extend Christ s hospitality to others and light the path of peace for generations to come. Knowing God is more important than knowing about God. - Karl Rahner, S.J.

How wonderful it will be when we hear these words said of us. As we start this week, let us meditate on how we are currently living out our lives and ask for the strength to continue to follow the inspirations of the Holy Spirit, regardless of the cost. THANK YOU CHRISTMAS THANK YOU! Please allow me to extend my sincere gratitude for the dedication and support of so many individuals who assisted in the preparation for Christmas here at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish. I am so grateful to the many who assisted in making our Christmas celebrations so beautiful. The countless volunteers who spent so much time cleaning, setting up and decorating the Church and Chapel both inside and out, our various musical ministries (Mrs. Carmella Faust, Mrs. Elaine Blessing, Mrs. Pat Fennell, Mrs. Caprice Ryman, Mr. George Andresky), the lectors, extraordinary ministers of communion, altar servers, sacristans, ushers, seamstresses, decorators, cleaners, and the coordinators of the many activities, projects and events during the season (i.e. Christmas Party for the children, Pierogi Sale, Holy Family Sunday, Christmas Gatherings/Dinners, Mary s Ministry, Contemporary Ensemble & Children s Choir concert, etc )! Gratitude is also extended to the service of our parish staff, Mary Lewis, Jen Carey, Bill Gross, Matt Fiske, Mary Fiske and Linda Colianni. We are blessed! On behalf of the parish community I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude! Finally, to the entire parish community thank you for your presence and generous support of our parish. The Magi came and laid their gifts before the Child that day. But greater than the gifts they gave were those they took away. So may you too, as you today adore your Lord anew, receive more gifts than you can give God bless and care for you! Sanctuary Candles Burn this week In Memory of William E. Lewis By Daughters, Cheryl & Mary In Memory of Rose Budanovitz By Family We encourage you to spend quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament throughout the week with a special prayer intention in mind. Just pick up a card after your visit to Church and send it off to the one in your prayer. The cards may be used on First Fridays by those attending Eucharistic Adoration. Think gospel! Please make room for your neighbor in Church and slide to the center of the pew.

8 Page 8 J A N U A R Y 1 3, S E R V I C E H E L P I N G O T H E R S THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE 2018 THANKSGIVING DINNER We would like to thank the many parishioners and community members who helped to make the 2018 Thanksgiving Dinner such a wonderful event. This year we served approximately 215 meals in Conlan Hall and delivered approximately 150 additional meals to the homebound in the area. Extra meals and deserts remaining after the dinner were donated to Ruth s Place. This outreach would simply not have been possible without the work of the many dedicated individuals who prepared the dinners in Conlan, donated food and desserts, provided financial assistance, shared fellowship with our dinner guests, delivered meals to homebound in the surrounding community, and/or volunteered time for kitchen prep and cleanup. We are profoundly grateful to everyone who lived and fulfilled the mission of the Thanksgiving Dinner through their service, and we thank you for making a commitment to this ministry part of your spiritual journey at St. Ignatius. Please keep an eye out for announcements regarding the Thanksgiving Dinner next Fall, and please encourage your friends to share in this ministry, as we are especially happy to welcome new volunteers.
