The group meets once a week, Wednesdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm at St. John's Hall. The hope is that we will work on projects for charitable purposes. Such as Afghans, for the poor or hats for babies. You want to work on your own project that's fine. We do ask that if you are working on your own project that isn't going to be donated that you use your own yarn but otherwise we welcome everyone. Please join us. We have yarn and needles for people but very much want and need donations. If you have yarn or needles or hooks lying around. We would love to have them. There is a box at the church. If you are thinking about coming you can just show up but it would be helpful if you can let me know. I want to make sure I have enough yarn for all Please let me know if you are interested in this group either as someone who can knit/crochet or as someone who wants to learn or you are just interested. (She is also has finished two hats!) We are known as the Guilt Free knitting and crocheting group. The name says it all. You want to come late, no worries. You want to

If you are sick or in need of someone to make you a meal, or know of someone in the parish who should receive a getwell card or needs a visit or a meal or has any other need a Christian community might be able to fill, please call the Pastoral Care Team Go-to Person, Barbara Daunheimer. Her home phone is and her cell is Barbara and Dianne Yurkavich are now the team and they invite anyone else who would like to volunteer to be a part of this very worthy ministry. The Pastoral Care Team was the recommendation of the Circle of Disciples at our first meeting in February. Look for further actions as we engage the topic of Christian Formation for adults and children this month! We will need: Bread, grated cheese, salad, desserts, spaghetti (10 lbs), small bottled water, soda, ice cubes, and of course, workers. Monetary donations are also welcome. THE LOWER LEVEL HAS SEVERAL CLASS ROOMS AND OR MEETING ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR RENT AS WELL. PLENTY OF PARKING IS AVAILABLE ALSO. 5 Bell Tower Newsletter October Volume 1, Issue 6 Page 5 The Altar Guild is a group of men and women who tend the altar and sanctuary and prepare it for worship. They arrange flowers, polish silver, ensure linens are cared for, put up altar hangings, update the hymn board, purchase wafers and wine, and they set up the altar area for all worship services. COMMUNION WAFERS We have gluten free wafers available when you take communion. If you follow a gluten free diet and would like to receive the gluten free wafer at the altar rail, please tell the priest. FLOWERS FOR NEW BORN BABIES If you have or hear of a new baby being born to one of our parishioners, we d like to put a rose on the baptismal font to acknowledge the new birth. This would also include parishioner s grandchildren. Please call Della Armstrong (978) as soon as the baby is born, so that we can put an announcement in the Sunday Bulletin and order a flower. MEMORIALS Have you ever wanted to do something for someone in a very special way? We invite you to consider a memorial for All Saints altar. You can do a special remembrance for a special occasion, a birthday, anniversary, birth, death or thanksgiving with a gift of $25.00 for flowers to be put on the altar at All Saints Church. You may do a perpetual memorial for a loved one by giving a higher amount donation. Just call Della Armstrong at to let her know about your special occasion or fill in and mail the following form:

7 Bell Tower Newsletter October Volume 1, Issue 6 Page 7 Pillow/Bedding Drive We are looking for NEW Pillows/Bedding unopened, crib sheets unopened, twin sheets unopened. For more information on this drive please contact Della (dw_armstrong@verizon.net) Mitch s Place In 2008 All Saints, West Newbury began a NEW ministry. Outreach, on the third Sunday of every month a small group of people prepare and serve dinner for about 35 people at Mitch s Place in Haverhill. Emmaus House We also serve Gods love at Emmaus House in Haverhill Ma. From 2008 Present we have donated Pillows, Christmas gifts, Hats, Gloves & Mittens. We have also donated backpacks for school children, we have donated Easter Baskets at Easter time. New Church School time and program! The executive committee of All Saints has decided to make time for a designated Christian formation hour prior to the Sunday morning service! Beginning Sunday, September 30 th, we will have coffee and muffins upstairs in St. John s Hall at 8:45. At 9 AM, children and adults will have a prayer and a song and then the children will go downstairs for their Christian Education time and the adults will remain upstairs for an adult forum led for the first few weeks by the Rev. Susan Russell. At 9:50 AM, all will proceed to the church for a 10 AM service of Holy Eucharist. The children (ages 4+) will be using SPARK, a curriculum designed to follow one of the lessons read in church each Sunday. Each

8 Page 8 October Volume 1, Issue 6 child will have access to their own Bible to encourage them to read it. We are very excited about the changes being made to accommodate this time to read and study the Word of God together and apply it to our own lives. We are still looking for one or two more individuals who would like to assist with teaching the children. There is a great deal of support in the curriculum for the teachers which will make it much easier to prepare for each lesson. Registration for children will begin Sunday, September 23. Please fill out a form in the entry way of the church so we have your contact information and your child s name. Feel free to invite your friends! Registration is an ongoing process and everyone is welcome at any time. We look forward to greeting all of you on the 30 th at 9 AM for Christian fellowship and learning!
