Level II will continue their work with the Fettuccia materials, the timeline representing all the gifts of love God has given and continues to give through all of creation, and work with materials from the model of the books of the Bible. Common to us all is the privilege and blessing of how we use the precious gifts of our time, talent and treasure. Stewardship is the spiritual practice of discerning the use of these gifts in building God s dream of love and justice in our hearts, relationships and world. At Trinity we call your gift of time and talent Shared Ministry and we call your gift of treasure a pledge. 6 PSALM 111 Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the deeds of the Lord! they are studied by all who delight in them. Fully of majesty and splendor is the work of the LORD, whose righteousness endures for ever. Gracious and full of compassion is the LORD, whose marvelous works are to be remembered. The LORD gives food to the God-fearing, ever mindful of the covenant. The LORD has shown the chosen people works of power in giving them the land s of the nations. The hands of the LORD work faithfulness and justice; all the commandments of the LORD are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, because they are done in truth and equity. The LORD sent redemption to the chosen people, commanding the covenant for ever; holy and awesome is the name of the LORD. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who act accordingly have a good understanding; the praise of the LORD endures for ever. DOES YOUR LAST NAME START WITH S THROUGH Z? You are invited to bring something tasty to share at coffee hour. Please see the sign up sheet at coffee hour on Sunday. We all enjoy a little something and a chat with friends after church. A warm thank you to all who have kept us fed at coffee hour. community NETWORKING FOR INTERFAITH SOLUTIONS - Presented by CLUE SB Sunday, October 16, 4-6pm You are invited to CLUE s third annual workshop, held at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, 1535 Santa Barbara Street. Speakers will report on five areas where CLUE SB has been active: finding alternatives to jail for people with mental illness; ending unjust evictions of low income renters; identifying particularly vulnerable people without homes; passing overtime pay and a bill of rights for farmworkers; and implementing a housing and treatment plan for the mentally ill. CLUE (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice) is an interfaith group actively building a network of faith communities to address the root causes of local economic injustices. How can we fail to be restored, when reached by love that never ends? From every ailment flesh endures our bodies clamor to be freed; yet in our hearts we would confess that wholeness is our deepest need. In conflicts that destroy our health, we diagnose the world s disease; our common life declares our ills: is there no cure, O Christ, for these? Grant that we all, made one in faith, in your community may find the wholeness that, enriching us, shall reach the whole of humankind.
