1 The Holy Trinity 2 nd Sunday After Pentecost June 18, :30a.m. and 11:00 a.m. ELW is the red hymnal in your pew racks. Hymns are found by number in the back section of the hymnal in your pew racks. Congregational response printed in bold type. PRELUDE GATHERING CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS All may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins. L: In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. C: Amen. God is full of compassion and mercy, and abounding in steadfast love. Trusting God s promise of forgiveness, let us confess our sin against God and one another. Silence for reflection and self-examination. Eternal God our creator, in you we live and move and have our being. Look upon us, your children, the work of your hands. Forgive us all our offenses, and cleanse us from proud thoughts and empty desires. By your grace draw us near to you, our refuge and our strength; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. We remain kneeling as the pastor offers God s absolution and forgiveness. Following absolution we stand for the hymn, facing the processional cross as we begin.

9 For our Parents of Young Children Relax-God put the wiggle in children, and you can rest assured that we are glad they are here worshipping with us. Consider sitting near the front of the church where your child can easily see and participate in worship. Help them follow the service in the bulletin or hymnal, or grab a Quiet Book available in the narthex. These are great ways to keep your child engaged. If your child has questions about worship, one of our staff members would be glad to talk with your child and you. If your child needs a break, feel free to use our parlor, located across the hall from the sanctuary. Parents and children may sit in the parlor and still see and hear the service. A nursery is available during our 11:00 a.m. service for children four years and younger. If you need a quiet place to nurse your baby we have a nursing mother s room right next to the nursery. Both are located though the glass doors toward the education wing. Just ask an usher, and they will gladly point the way. 10 A huge thank you to the members of St. Andrew s for helping to make the Family Promise ministry this past week so successful. This ministry is the very definition of synergy it s big and complicated, but only requires small efforts by a lot of people to achieve large results. The week went very well because of your gracious help and generosity. The guest families were very grateful and appreciative of everything you did to make their stay with us a positive experience. We may be their favorite church so far! We re also happy to report that one family (Stephanie and her 14 month daughter Nashlyn) secured housing this week and will moving into more permanent housing within a week or two. This will enable them to reunite with Michael, the father of Nashlyn and Stephanie s fiancée. We can t thank you enough for your support of the Family Promise Ministry. Members who were not able to serve this past week are encouraged to talk with members who did serve about how positive their service experience was. Our next week to host is September 24 through October 1. We hope you will consider helping serve that week! Steve Slice, Coordinator ST. ANDREW S VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL The Jesus Way Vacation Bible School will be July Classes will be available for children and adults in the evenings beginning with dinner. All are welcome! Visit the church website at to register and for more information. New Website Our new website is up and running! Check it out at
