WARMING CENTER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Trinity Church is part of the interfaith community which opens it s doors to the unsheltered during the cold and rainy months from November-March. We will be scheduled for about five weeks during those months and open when it rains or it becomes too cold. Trinity volunteers provide the dinner which includes a hot main dish, salad, bread, dessert and also fruit and nutrition bars for breakfast. The guests sleep in the Parish and Guild Halls which are staffed by the warming Center program. If you can be part of this year s Warming Center team, please sign up at the Welcome Table or contact the church office or office@trinitysb.org. WARMING CENTER CASSEROLES NEEDED! Trinity is collecting frozen casseroles in anticipation of the Winter Warming Center opening soon. Please consider making a casserole for the freezer - hearty casseroles with chicken, pasta or beef. You can pick up an aluminum pan at the Welcome Table to fill and return to the office. This standard size will stack in the church freezer and will cook in a similar amount of time. Frozen purchased casseroles are also welcome. Contact: office@trinitysb.org. COFFEE HOUR NEEDS YOU!!! Coffee Hour Goodies are everyone s responsibility. We all love a little something, be it sweet or savory, after church to go along with our coffee and conversation. Your contribution can be as simple as chips and dip or a bag of cookies, or as elaborate as you would like to make it. The small and the quick among us are aware that hospitality means leaving enough for everyone else and are willing to share. Sign up for a Sunday between now and Christmas and bring a smile to many faces, young and old. Please note that Gluten Free items are always appreciated. Cheers from the Hospitality Council! CATECHESIS TRAINING IN JANUARY The Children and Youth Council is delighted to announce that Trinity will host a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training course for new Level 1 Trinity catechists starting in January. Level II will work with familiar materials, return to the model of the books of the Bible to learn more about the diversity of these books, and discuss some of Jesus well-known sayings, or maxims, regarding our prayer. Level III consider major images and ideas from the accounts of creation in Genesis 1 and 2, and relate them to images and ideas from the New Testament and from our worship today. 6 OFFERTORY HYMN OFFERTORY ANTHEM TEXT: Since I am coming to that holy room, Where, with thy choir of saints for evermore, I shall be made thy music; as I come I tune the instrument here at the door, And what I must do then, think here before. We think that Paradise and Calvary, Christ s cross, and Adam s tree, stood in one place; Look, Lord, and find both Adams met in me; As the first Adam s sweat surrounds my face, May the last Adam s blood my soul embrace. So, in his purple wrapp d, receive me, Lord; By these his thorns, give me his other crown; And as to others souls I preach d thy word, Be this my text, my sermon to mine own: Therefore that he may raise, the Lord throws down. 8 PSALM 24 The earth is the LORD s and all that is in it, the world and all who dwell therein. For it is the LORD who founded it upon the seas and made it firm upon the rivers of the deep. Who can ascend the hill of the LORD? and who can stand in God s holy place? Those who have clean hands and a pure heart, who have not pledged themselves to falsehood, nor sworn by what is a fraud. They shall receive a blessing from the LORD and a just reward from the God of their salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek the LORD, of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, O gates; lift them high, O everlasting doors; and the glorious Sovereign shall come in. Who is this glorious Sovereign? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates; lift them high, O everlasting doors; and the glorious Sovereign shall come in. And who is this glorious Sovereign? The LORD, the LORD of hosts is the glorious Sovereign.
