2 All Saints Parish introduction 2017 ALL SAINTS BEVERLY HILLS IS A SPECIAL PLACE. We are a welcoming, inclusive, dynamic church, where we strive to make new life possible for everyone. We represent many generations, many backgrounds and many parts of our City. But we are unified in our belief that God is Love, and that His Love is available to everyone no exceptions. We work every day to be the church of Jesus, and we believe that means we must strive to bring Christ s message of peace and reconciliation alive in the world, right here, right now. We do that through worshiping together, being in community with one another, serving the needs of all our brothers and sisters - in Los Angeles and the world - and by recognizing that faith is a lifetime journey, one that can begin with even our youngest children. As we celebrate Pentecost the Gift of the Holy Spirit - we stop to think about all that has been given to us from God, and all that we give back in gratitude. The season of Pentecost enables us to do even more to support our kingdom work, and we invite you to Pour Out Your Spirit by making a mid-year gift to All Saints This Descriptive Budget is designed to make a connection between the budget details that guide our financial operations and the life we experience at this wonderful place. Please take some time to review it as you prayerfully consider your mid-year gift. Our efforts are focused on five essential areas. 3 The Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills COMMUNITY Being in Community together is core to who we are. Whether we are here on Sundays to worship, during the week for a class or a choir rehearsal, or connected via Facebook or the website, we are reflecting the work of the Apostles by living our lives in connection with each other, in common faith. 20% $446,530 20% of our operating budget goes towards supporting our Community. This covers such things as: - Noonday Prayer during the week - Maintaining the Parish Prayer List - Providing pastoral care, as needed, when needed - All Saints Website and Facebook page - Weekly e-bulletin and Sunday bulletin - Ethos Quarterly Journal - Cleaning and maintaining our facilities - Newcomer welcoming and integration - Pentecost and All Saints Sunday celebrations - Jazz n Jambalaya - Special Events All Saint s Fair, 12 Angry Men - Donuts!! OUTREACH We are Jesus hands and feet in the world. As Christians, we have a responsibility to care for our brothers and sisters, in every way we can. All Saints has a long tradition of feeding the hungry, healing the sick, visiting the prisoner and bringing hope to those in need. Through this work, we help make a better world, and we are better people for it. 21% $464,597 21% of our operating budget goes to support our social justice outreach work locally and internationally. This includes: - The Monday Meal - Honduras Medical Mission - Laundry Love - LGBT Center Brunches - The Islamic Center Food Pantry - Imagine LA - Hope Net Food Pantry - Get on the Bus - Project Angel Tree - Diocesan Events Pentecost

4 All Saints Parish WORSHIP AND MUSIC Central to our life together is our worship life. Whether we worship via a spoken Eucharist, or with organ music and vestments, or in a traditionallyrooted contemporary service with guitars, we come together each week to hear the Word and share bread and wine at Christ s table. 28% $608,392 Appropriately, the largest portion of our operating budget 28% - goes to support Worship and Music. This includes: - Preaching, 52 weeks a year - AS2 Talks, 52 weeks a year - Liturgy planning for traditional and AS2 services - Wafers, wine, candles and other worship supplies - Training & scheduling all worship leaders - Vestments for Clergy, Altar Ministers, Choir - Funerals, Weddings, Baptisms - Three choir rehearsals each week - AS2 music planning and rehearsals - Taize, Evensongs, the Annual Spring Concert - Easter! - Christmas! ADULT FORMATION AND EDUCATION Our journey of faith is a life-long one that evolves as we progress through life. At All Saints, our adult formation and education programs help us to learn, grow and connect. We study scripture, learn about contemporary social issues, make deeper commitments of faith and meet people with different backgrounds and views. Through it all, we come to understand God, and each other, in deeper ways. 16% $360,456 16% of our operating budget goes towards helping form us as Christians. This includes Adult Education and individual formation occasions such as: - Adult Baptism and Confirmation Classes - Wednesday Night Dinner Series - Bible Swim - Pop Up Tuesdays Adult Bible Classes - CrossBrew 20 s-30 s House Church - VERSED for Young Adults - SAGES - Small groups - Pre-marital counseling - All Saints Cares - Stewardship Education 4 Descriptive Budget

From very young, a child can experience God s love in magical and transformative ways, and our early childhood programs helps to pave the way for a life of faith. Families connect and are strengthened by being a part of this loving, inclusive community. 15% $337,222 15% of our operating budget is dedicated to our Children, Youth and Families Ministry, an essential part of our All Saints Community. This includes: - Tiny Church for children under 3 - Prepare and teach Godly Play - Prepare and lead NEST classes - Prepare and lead CAST classes - Annual CAST Mission Trip - Youth outings - Easter Sunday Family Eucharist - St. Francis Day Pet Wash - Childcare throughout the year - Pastoral care for families - Youth Acolytes learn more at org/pentecost Pentecost

6 All Saints Parish As you prayerfully consider your mid-year Pentecost Gift to All Saints, consider these words from the book of Acts and how they relate to your life, and our lives together in this beloved community. the coming of the holy spi When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. Acts 2:1-4 life among believers Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. We encourage you to bring the enclosed gift card to church Pentecost Sunday to place in the offering basket during the special Pour out your spirit Pentecost ingathering. Don t forget to bring a dish to feed six for the Pentecost Potluck following the 10 am and 11:30 am service. Pentecost
