WORSHIP COUNCIL TRAINING SCHEDULE Liturgical volunteers have been getting together with their ministry heads this month to re-connect, agree on what s changed and what remains the same, and get ready for the start of our new program year, on September 11! There are three trainings left on the calendar for volunteers who serve the congregation in worship. All sessions will be held in the church at 9:00 a.m. Today: Ushers for 10am service, David Gartrell Next Saturday, August 27: Lectors, Dodie Little & Lynn Carlisle Next Sunday, August 28: LEMS, Cheri Young PHOTO EXHIBIT AT TRINITY I Have a Name Since October of 2012, Robert Adler, a writer, and Tom Feher, a photographer, have been interviewing and photographing undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America at a shelter in Oaxaca, Mexico, run by COMI (El Centro de Orientación de Migrantes de Oaxaca). This traveling exhibition of near life-sized photographs of the migrantes is printed on aluminum sheets: so that the viewer can see each one as a fellow human being. We have no idea where they might be at this time, or even if they are still alive. Our hearts are with them. HAWC MEETING SUNDAY, AUGUST 28 AT 11:30 a.m. in the Library The Hunger Advocacy Working Committee (HAWC) welcomes all interested parishioners to help us plan for the next few months. Currently we are supporting the Westside Healthy Community Pantry held monthly on the 4th Tuesday at Harding Elementary School. HAWC members run the popular Blender Bike stand and distribute new or gently used reusable grocery bags donated by Trinitarians. A team of Trinity volunteers serves dinner to residents once a month. Trinity volunteers take part in a mutual ministry of learning and socializing each month on the third Saturday with the residents, providing lunch with an activity or program. These volunteers do things like cook a meal, run an errand, or provide transportation. Helpers are put into a resource pool and called upon on an as need basis.
