200 North Summit, Bowling Green Phone: Website: bgtrinity.com Pastor Andrea Curry (419) Welcome to Trinity Church! We are so glad you are here today. If you are a visitor please be sure to fill out one of our New Here? cards and put it in the offering plate. If you have a prayer request that you would like the pastor to offer during the Prayers of the People, please fill out a Prayer Request card and pass it to an usher during the opening hymn. For additional information on our ministries please visit the info station in the sanctuary. Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost: October 7, 2018 Prelude Sing Alleluia Forth by Nordman Scott Carpenter, Organist Welcome and Announcements *Call to Worship Leader: We are here together in the name of Christ Jesus, People: in the presence of an awesome, Holy Love. Leader: A person without God is like a feather in a perpetual wind, blown all over the place without any control or choice in where to rest. People: O come, let us return to the living God, Let us bow before the One who is our Maker. *Opening Hymn #366 I Surrender All *Passing of the Peace Children s Message Children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a time of teaching. Junior Worship Dismissal - All children aged four and over may go to Jr. Worship with our Jr. Worship leader. There is also a nursery for younger children. Prayers of the People
Pastoral Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, Amen. Offering Offertory Prayer by Demorest *Doxology Hymn #625 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow *Prayer of dedication Scripture James 5: Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. Chancel Choir Anthem "In Remembrance" by Buryl Red Message Praying Through the Waiting Pastor Andrea Curry Sacrament of Holy Communion Invitation The Great Thanksgiving The Giving and Receiving of Elements (please come forward) Have You Any Room for Jesus? Sinfonia Prayer of Thanksgiving by Wilson by Bach Junior Worship Sharing A student from the Junior Worship group will share about what the group learned today. *Closing Hymn #344 He s Got the Whole World in His Hands *Benediction Postlude *Indicates stand as able

Trunk or Treat will be on Friday, October 19th from 6-8pm this year. It is a great time of community outreach for us every year, besides being a lot of fun! Start planning your trunk decorations now and please sign up on the sheet in the sanctuary. We also need candy donations by Sunday, October 14th.
The Men s Group will meet at Big Boy on Wooster at 9am on Saturday, October 20th. Sponsored by Trinity s Prayer Shawl and Sewing Groups Saturday, October 20 th from 9:00am-4:00pm Sunday, October 21 st from 11:30am-12:30pm Rake and Run! On Sundays, November 4th and 11th, our Youth Group (and anyone else from Trinity who wishes to join in on the fun) will be raking yards...the more, the merrier! Please let Beth Van Vorhis know if you wish to help OR if you need your yard raked OR know of someone who does. We will be accepting donations for our Youth Group Fund. One of the ways we connect with Christ is through the sacrament of Communion. Often our homebound members aren t able to participate in Communion. In fact it s one of the things that they miss most about attending church regularly. Pastor Andrea is looking for people to serve on a Congregational Care Team that would help in visiting our homebound members with Communion each month. Please contact the office if you would like to serve in this way. Relay News Back by popular demand - The Trinity Relay for Life Team is kicking off their fundraising efforts for the 2019 Relay for Life by selling OSU and Michigan shirts. The cost is T- Shirts - $10.00, Long Sleeve T-Shirts - $15.00, Sweatshirts - $18.00 and Hoodies - $25. 2XL to 5XL shirts are available for an additional cost. Our team will get full fundraising credit for any shirts sold. Order forms are located at the Information Station table. Deadline to order shirts is Sunday, October 21st and payment must accompany your order. Please enclose cash or make checks payable to the American Cancer Society with your order. Shirts should be available in mid-november before the OSU/Michigan game. They are unisex and 50/50 blend shirts that would also make nice Christmas gifts. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact Bev and Ken Robie, Joanie and Gary Manning, or Gretchen and Dave Avery. All are welcome Thanks again for all your support. Trinity s Youth Group will meet today and also on October 14th from 3-5pm.
Raise some dough at Rapid Fired Pizza! Our Missions Committee is having a fundraiser on Tuesday, October 9th from 11am-10pm.
