4 December 3, 2017 First Sunday of Advent Page Four What did you like best at our November meeting? The roasted beet salad? crabmeat? Mini beef wellington? These were all served by Jose and Mana of Sunset Grill of Des Plaines at our November meeting. Jose s new partner, Martin, of the next door restaurant Adreani s also presented us with delicious pizza. It was a truly gourmet night, and everyone was so pleased to have Jose demonstrate how to make delicious hors d oeuvres. We held a brief memorial service in honor of the late Eleanor Laraia, our vice president. Eleanor will be missed by all who knew her. Claudia Twarski has graciously stepped in to assume the duties of vice-president. Dues are being collected a $10 for the year. Thank you all who attended and we look forward to seeing you at our December 12th Christmas party. CWC Board Thanksgiving Dinner Thankfully, once again, you made the Thanksgiving Holiday memorable for those who couldn t provide for their families. Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we light the candles of this wreath. May the wreath and its light be a sign of Christ's promise to bring us salvation; may he come quickly and not delay. We ask this through Christ our Lord. For Catholics, the Mass is the center of our Faith. It can be said that the Catholic Mass is the most amazing event on earth. Join us Tuesday, December 5 at 7:00p.m. as Father Chris offers a special Advent presentation about The Mass. Father will explain the significance of the rituals so that we will have a better understanding of the sacred liturgy, which is at the heart and center of the Christian life. Fr. Chris talk on the Mass is meant for all ages! A great opportunity for your children to learn more about the Mass as well as our veteran parishioners. This Tuesday at 7pm in church All are invited to explore and discover the meaning and experience the riches of the Mass.
