The Lord s Supper will be served. The Lord s Supper is observed every Lord s Day at Faith Presbyterian Church alternating between the morning and the evening services. The officers have wanted to retain evening communion not only because all the Lord s Suppers explicitly mentioned in the New Testament were in the evening, but as well to reinforce the importance of Sunday evening worship as a regular part of the observance of the Lord s Day. Luke 15 Prayer Group Starting this Wednesday, a Luke 15 prayer group will meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month to pray for the adult children of our congregation who are questioning or rejecting faith. This concern is heavy on many hearts in our church, so if you would like to add your voice to the prayers for the spiritual lives of these beloved children, join us at 6:30 pm, in Room 105 downstairs. Eat, Talk, Pray: Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals This past Wednesday we began once again to offer dinner before prayer meeting. These meals will be on the 1 st and 3 rd Wednesdays of the month, the next one being March 20 th. Come and enjoy eat, talk, then pray. Mark your calendar; you won t want to miss out! Can you hear me now? There is one aspect of our worship that we hope you never think about: the sound system! (Because, if you are thinking about it, something has probably just gone wrong. Sorry.) There is a small team of volunteers that manages the sound board and video feed for our services. If you are interested in learning how this technology works or in joining our team, there are two training opportunities coming up. You may choose to meet us in the sanctuary either on Thursday, March 28th, at 7:00 pm or on Saturday, March 30th, at 9:00 am. Contact Doug Lawty, if you have any questions. Me, a Seminary Student? Covenant Seminary now provides on-line theological education for those who may be contemplating seminary, either as ministers-to-be or simply to take on-line courses. The seminary offers several on-line degrees, making it possible for people to stay rooted in their current community and church while getting a seminary education. Dr. Mike Higgins, Dean of Students at Covenant Seminary, will be in Seattle the end of the month. An informal breakfast is planned on Saturday morning, March 30 th at 9am at the Grace Church Seattle office, which is at 400 E Pine Street, Suite 215, Seattle It will be an opportunity for prospective students to find out more about what Covenant has to offer. Adult Sunday School The Women of Faith Class I (Room 117) Martyrs and Missionaries and the Persecuted Church: In this Sunday School class we are reading stories and books about past and current missionaries and persecuted Christians around the world. We want to be aware of the plight of the persecuted church of today and to pray for them regularly. The Women of Faith Class II (Covenant High School Office) We are studying together the book Union with Christ by Rankin Wilbourne. The Word of Faith Class (Sanctuary) Elder Mike Pfefferle continues his fascinating and very valuable introduction to early Christianity. High School Sunday School (North Side of DeSoto Hall) High schoolers, hear this, you don t want to miss the 4-week Sunday School that starts today. Come prepared to learn and do. We ll practice some key relationship building skills that you can use to be a support to others, comfort those in grief, and understand the lives of people around you. Better English on Sixth ESL Sunday School (Room 304) Kathy Lewis facilitates the Better English class where individual American partners help each international who wishes to read or discuss material at an appropriate level of English. Please contact Kathy or Jonathan Nichols if you would like to become a partner or assist Better English on Sixth in any way.

8 Men of Faith, Morning Prayer Meetings & Devotions There are opportunities to meet with fellow Men of Faith for prayer and devotions each week: Wednesday mornings with Phil Perkins: We meet at Bluebeard Coffee Roasters, th Avenue in Tacoma. This group meets at 6 am for Bible reading and prayer. After several years we continue to focus solely on the Psalms which serve as a life guide. This is our third time through the Psalms over the course of nine years. One of the ancient church fathers, Athanasius wrote, Whatever your particular need or trouble, from this same book (the Psalms) you can select a form of words to fit it, so that you...learn the way to remedy your ill. Thursday mornings with Thom Wilson, 6:30 am at the church. Join us in studying through the Gospel of John as we pray for our concerns and the world around us. College & Career Community Groups College & Career is a young adult ministry of Faith Presbyterian Church. The goal is to provide opportunities for young adults 18 and older, whether single or married, to do life together throughout the week and form deep Christian friendships. C&C Community Groups are weekly small groups that meet in a home for dinner and fellowship. We have one group that meets on Thursdays at Nate and Rachel Shelden s home at 6:30, and another group that meets on Tuesdays at Isaac and Elsie Dye s home at 6:30. For more details, or if you re interested in joining a C&C Community Group, please contact one of us and we ll help you get connected! A Reminder about Parking As a courtesy to our neighbors, please do not park on the south side of South 8th Street, on South Winnifred Street behind the church, or where the curb is painted yellow. Also, please save the spots next to the building marked reserved for our elderly and those with mobility limitations. Nursing Mothers In addition to the nursery rooms, Room #117 the Women in the Church room, is open and available for your convenience during all Worship Services. The service can be seen and heard in the WIC room. Hearing Assistance If you would like a device to help with hearing the worship service, please see a Deacon.
