A reception will follow in DeSo Hall. The Lord s Supper will be served. The Lord s Supper is observed every Lord s Day at Faith Presbyterian Church alternating between morning evening services. The officers have wanted retain evening communion not only because all Lord s Suppers explicitly mentioned in New Testament were in evening, but as well reinforce importance of Sunday evening worship as a regular part of observance of Lord s Day. Isaiah 58 Ministry T Morning On Sunday, June 10th, Faith Presbyterian launched a new initiative called Isaiah 58. David wife Sara ir four children are well known our congregation as David was on staff here at Faith in 2007 as Assistant Pasr, as he prepared plant church in Puyallup. Mors Encouragement Group Mors Encouragement Group will resume our twicemonthly meetings on Thursday, September 20. T year we will be reading Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family, by Paul David Tripp. You do not need buy book participate, re is no required homework! C3 Ministries Trainings C3 Ministries equips empowers us congregation of Faith Presbyterian be instruments of God s care comfort for our brethren our community. C3 Ministries preparation will emphasize se practical ways give care comfort: Building Relationships Entering in Grief Understing Poverty Recognizing Status (race, foreigner, etc.) We will start t fall with 2hour trainings one Saturday each month in September, Ocber November. Women s Ministry Bible Studies Begin T Tuesday T fall we are offering two different Bible Studies for women at Faith. Please consider joining one. Tuesday Morning Bible Study, Dawn Darby Leader On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, we will begin our study of John Bunyan s famous Pilgrim s Progress, which is, next Bible, most published book in English language. If you have never read it before, here is your chance study it ger. Derek Thomas, ologian pasr, says with considerable gravitas, You will not get in heaven having not read Bunyan s Pilgrim s Progress. If you have read it, clearly you are safe, but we d love you come share your insights with group. If you can join us, please get an unabridged copy with both parts Christian Christiana. 12 Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study, Beth James Leader Join us for a time of prayer studying God s Word, every Tuesday 122pm, beginning September 11. We ll start with a 6lesson series from books of Samuel on Growing A Heart for God by John Ortberg. It s available on Amazon paperback or Kindle formats. Meeting at home of Beth James. No childcare available. Adult Sunday School Today Adult High School Sunday School classes will meet in sanctuary day for our quarterly Isaiah 58 Ministry garing. The ESL class will meet as usual in room 304. Better English on Sixth ESL Sunday School (Room 304) Kathy Lewis facilitates Better English class where individual American partners help each international who wishes read or discuss material at an appropriate level of English. Men of Faith, Morning Prayer Meetings & Devotions There are opportunities meet with fellow Men of Faith for prayer devotions each week: Wednesday mornings with Phil Perkins: We meet at Old Town Anm coffee shop at 2312 N. 30th St., Tacoma. T group meets at 6 am for Bible reading prayer. After several years we continue focus solely on Psalms which serve as a life guide. One of ancient church fars, Athanasius wrote, Whatever your particular need or trouble, from t same book ( Psalms) you can select a form of words fit it, so that you...learn way remedy your ill. Thursday mornings with Thom Wilson, 6:30 am at church. Join us in studying through Book of Acts as we pray for our concerns world around us. College & Career Community Groups College & Career is a young adult ministry of Faith Presbyterian Church. The goal is provide opportunities for young adults 18 older, wher single or married, do life ger throughout week form deep Christian friendships. C&C Community Groups are weekly small groups that meet in a home for dinner fellowship. We have one group that meets on Thursdays at Nate Rachel Shelden s home at 6:30, anor group that meets on Tuesdays at Isaac Elsie Dye s home at 6:30. Hearing Assistance If you would like a device help with hearing worship service, please see a Deacon. Explanation of Cover Symbol The anchor is an ancient Christian symbol for hope.
