2 PAGE 2 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2017 Dear Friends in Christ, Flocknote Sign-Up Next Weekend Next weekend we are going to provide an opportunity for the parish to sign up for Flocknote. Flocknote is an increasingly popular communication tool used by many parishes around the United States. Our neighbors at St. John Neumann and Holy Cross have been using it for a few years now. Flocknote allows us to send important parish information by way of or text message (and also receive feedback). A communication goes out no more than once a week so please don t feel like you will be deluged. Examples of Flocknote usage would be reminding the parish community about an upcoming Holy Day or sending out a note about an upcoming special event. I receive the weekly Flocknote message from St. John Neumann and I always ind it to be informative, engaging, and succinct. Why use a communication tool like Flocknote? The goal is to increase engagement in our parish and to simplify and strengthen our communication. Evangelization is a key part of our mission and this is one of the means we can use to convey the gospel message and strengthen our parish community. This is all totally free for you to use, and you don t have to download anything or create a password in order to participate. Your info will be kept private and it is possible to unsubscribe at any time. Parish groups and ministries will be able to use it to connect with their organizations. Our Religious Education, Youth Ministry and Knights of Columbus Council have been using Flocknote for a number of years. We usually ask people to make sure their cell phones are off during Mass, but next weekend we want you to bring your cell phones and we ll lead you through a brief process to help you get connected to Flocknote if you choose. We ll also have all the information you ll need in next weekend s bulletin. Here are a few questions that are frequently asked: 1. Why is my church using this? Good communication is vital for a healthy family or church. Our desire is to communicate more easily and effectively with the parish community. Using Flocknote allows us to easily send you the information you need via or text, and it allows you to respond. Messages from the parish will not be more than once per week. 2. Am I in for good if I sign up? No! The nice thing about Flocknote is that it is free for parishioners, and you can unsubscribe at any time. 3. Is my information secure? Yes. All of your data is transmitted across an encrypted internet connection, and all of your personal information is stored in secure databases. Your information is never sold, rented, or given away to any third-parties. Find more info at locknote.com/privacy. 4. What if I don t have texting? You can still sign up for Flocknote. As long as you have an address, your church has a unique link on the internet that you can use to sign up as well. Just enter your name and your address, and you can still receive messages sent out by the parish. Thank you for your consideration of this request to participate in Flocknote. I have some familiarity with the tool since we used it at my previous parish. I think it will strengthen our parish through improved communication. May God bless you and our parish community! In Christ, Msgr. Steve Attention Parishioners! Next Weekend We Are Introducing FLOCKNOTE, September 23 & 24! We love having you as part of our flock! Let s Keep in Touch! This lets us know that Christ is present. You can make a personal intention request for one week while the candle burns by the Tabernacle. This can be in memory of a loved one or another special intention. We will note who the intention is for in the bulletin. A $10 candle donation is suggested to help provide candles for the church.
