2 St Francis of Assisi Parish Teutopolis, Illinois page 2 Annual Day of Prayer for Life The 35th annual Day of Prayer for Life sponsored by Effingham County Right to Life will be Wednesday, June 24th in St Francis Church, Teutopolis Opening Mass is scheduled for 8:00 am, with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament beginning after Mass Continuous hours of prayer until 7:00 pm Benediction Fr Tom Euteneuer, Human Life International President, will be celebrant and homilist for the 7:30 pm closing Mass Our parish is scheduled to pray 9:00 to 10:00 am CDA Effingham 10:00 to 11:00 am CDA Teutopolis 5:00 to 6:00 pm All Youth of Effingham Deanery 4:00 to 5:00 pm All members of KC Councils and Men of Effingham Deanery 6:00 to 7:00 pm A reception for Fr Euteneuer will follow immediately after Mass in the St Clare hall, adjoining the church and everyone is invited Refreshments will be served Are we not convinced in our hearts, dear Friends, that peace in our society, peace of conscience for millions of women and men cannot prevail until justice is done for the unborn, until life is victorious? A BIG Thank you goes to the following: Fr Ken for a beautiful liturgy inside and outside; the servers, Br Pauli, and Barb Runde who volunteered their time for the practice as well as the liturgy; the 4th Degree Knights and American Legion representatives who made our procession more complete and reverent; Sr Ann, Sr Christine, and Carol Hoelscher for helping with the First Communicants who brought flowers for the procession; Theresa Draper, Sr Carol, and Rick Siemer for leading the singing which greatly enhanced our worship; the families who created the beautiful altars: Mini park by the Nick and Janice Niemeyer family, grade school grotto by the George and Joyce Habing family, front of church by the Kathy Wellbaum and Angie Esker families, and the Congregation that made our liturgy and procession absolutely complete with their presence and voices! Also, a very sincere thank you goes to Brian and Juel Niemeyer for all the work they did for many, many years in decorating the mini park altar for the Corpus Christi procession We thank you for your time, dedication, and service which have so greatly enhanced our Corpus Christi processions God bless you and thank you! Mark 4:39 NATURE IS AMAZING As we peer down into the canyon, our voices bounce off rock walls like scattered pebbles We are small All the laws of science cannot capture the grandeur of what is real Sometimes we disappear into events that break over us like a big wave The power of the sea is recognized even by those who live far from shifting tides We hear how peoples crossed in small boats, many dying on the way How they surely cried out for help Like sailors, we learn to pray during storms Sometimes sleep is slow to reach us Worry seems to churn all around The darkness is real and we cannot see far But a presence is felt in the night Troubles, like the sea, are bounded We never make it through all by ourselves God, let us hear your voice in the darkness LIVING FAITH

I asked Haven t you found a nice card for Daddy yet? No, he replied I m looking for one with money in it
