A big THANK YOU goes out to Kim, Darrell, Nicholas Lubenow, Jay and Dawn Schnelle, Doug Schmuhl, Liz and Zach Allen, and Mary Kolberk!! They took time from their busy schedules to prepare and serve the meal for the NEW Shelter on Memorial Day weekend. The Swan Club prepared a banquet meal and the crew added their special touches with a vegetable, fruit and cupcakes for dessert. Their efforts did not go Unnoticed. All of the recipients were very appreciative and they had many guardian angels watching over them. In this busy day and age we all just keep on going but we especially need to Keep the Faith and that is what this crew continues to do every time they serve!!! 3 WORSHIP NEWS Contact: Wayne Efferson, Servant Leader , x206 or Please welcome this child who was baptized into our parish family. Parker Lee-Morris Phillips Son of Ryan & Meghan Phillips TAIZE PRAYER TAIZE prayer will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21 at 6:30 PM (Chapel). TAIZE (pronounced ~~ Teh-ZAY) is an ecumenical, peaceful way to pray, using easy to learn musical chants, silent meditation and scripture readings.a meditative, common prayer. Gathered in faith, Christians come together to sing uncomplicated repetitive short songs, like breath prayers, uncluttered by too many words, allowing the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of the Spirit in its simplicity. A few words sung over and over again (mantra) reinforce the meditative quality of prayer. They express a basic reality of faith that can quickly be grasped by the intellect, and will gradually penetrate the whole being. For in-depth information visit The new Spring/Summer Schedule began on June 4 with this weekend Masses. If you did not get a copy, please pick one up in the front Sacristy, Parish Office or go online. PICNIC CHOIR FOR NATIVITY S PICNIC MASSES We are making arrangements to gather voices for our 2017 Picnic Choir, which will lead song at the Saturday, June 24 (5:00 PM) and Sunday, June 25 (10:15 AM) Masses. Also, there will be a tribute to our Veterans before the close of each Mass. We extend an invitation to all who love to sing. This has always a special opportunity/tradition for us to come together and praise God in song. Rehearsals will be announced in the near future. All ages are welcome! We have each been blessed with a unique voice, so let s raise them up together. Please contact Wayne Efferson, Worship Servant Leader, , x206 or natwe@nativityparish.com for more information and/or if you are interested; also bring a friend! A GIFT FOR OUR PARISH In memory of their families Robert and Audrey Miller and Robert and Betty Steffes, Chris and Virginia Steffes gifted our parish with new crucifixes to be used by our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) for the distribution of Communion at Mass. As you can see, there are two colored cords; one for the Host and the other for the Precious Blood. We thank Chris and Virginia for their generosity. WITH GRATITUDE AND REVERENCE As we approach the celebration of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (June 18), I want you to know that we are in great need of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) at our weekend liturgies and our local nursing homes and care facilities. This great gift of the Lord s presence in the Eucharist is the foundation of our faith; let it be a challenge and opportunity to generously and joyfully share it with the faithful at Mass and/ or the faithful who cannot attend Mass. The Worship Ministry welcomes, and is in need of, new EMs to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at each of the Masses (42 are needed each weekend) and at Woodside Lutheran and Maple Ridge Nursing Homes (five each weekend). Those who have embraced this ministry have found it to be a blessing. Training is available for this ministry and scheduling is suited to meet your schedule. Won t you pray and see if God is calling you to this ministry? If you feel this calling, please contact Wayne Efferson, Worship Servant Leader, , x206, natwe@nativityparish.com. Please keep the family of Nick Bertolli in your prayers. Nativity of Our Lord Parish 3

You can text an amount to and your transaction will be processed through the Online Giving account associated with the phone number. If your phone number is not recognized, you can continue without an account, associate your number with an existing account, or create an account. Call the Parish Office at for more details on how to get started. END OF YEAR.. The end of our church year is coming up on June 30. As you can see by our weekly collections we are about $40,000 behind our budgeted receipts. At the end of May we are looking at a $20,000 deficit for the year. Hopefully you have noticed some of the needed maintenance we have been doing around the building. Carpets and furniture have been cleaned and the spring yard work is in full swing. We also have a roof leak that we are having problems repairing. All this is very costly and unexpected, please consider increasing your weekly contribution to help us end the year on a more positive note. Un^_r Constru]tion Donations for Rectory Update & Repairs In 1991 we converted the Rectory to a two family dwelling. Since that time very little updating has been done. We need to do repairs and updating before our new Priest, Fr. Mike moves in. We do not have the extra money it will take to do these projects and are hoping our parishioners can help us out. We are asking for donations to fund the updating repairs. Donations can be made at the office or you can put your donation in an envelope marked rectory and put it in the collection basket on the weekend. Please be generous. Thank you for your continued support of Nativity Parish.
