SINGERS NEEDED FOR OCTOBER 15TH ANNIVERSARY MASS Rehearsal Sunday, October 12, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Church. There is still time to join your voice with other parish singers to celebrate our 50th Anniversary Wednesday, October 15th for the 5:30 pm Liturgy with Bishop Ricken as the presider. A special Anniversary Choir is being for this event. We are looking for Middle School through adults. You don t have to be involved currently with any choirs at Nativity. We can use toys, games, jewelry, knick-knacks, kitchen, and household items. No clothing or electronics please! Mark your donations "Granny's Attic" and bring to Bona Hall. 33RD ANNUAL WINTER WONDERLAND BAZAAR & CRAFT SALE SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22 8:30 AM We are in need of NEW home made items for our Craft Booth and $1 to $3 dollar gift items for our Hidden Treasures Booth. We are especially in need of adult male, boys and baby items for the Hidden Treasures! A box will be placed in the Narthex. BOOKS The Guild is also collecting books for our Bazaar. ANNUAL SUCKER SALE- Every year the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women has worked with parish women s groups to offer assistance to the shelters for victims of family violence within our diocese. Since 2001 they have sent over $154,900 to various shelters! DCCW and Nativity Women's Guild thank you for your support. Our Annual Sucker Sale is scheduled for October 11th and 12th this year. Your gift will help many women and children at Golden House (Green Bay's local shelter). Thank you! 1964 In honor of Nativity s 50th Anniversary we will be sharing news from 1964 both local and national. We hope you enjoy reading these blasts from the past October 11, 1964 Packers win over the 49ers in Milwaukee County Stadium. October 12, 1964 The Nativity Finance Committee met and recommended weekly tithing of $2.50 weekly or $1.25 for widow/widower. October 15, 1964 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded Nobel Peace Prize October 17, 1964 Sonny and Cher are married. Cher wore bell bottoms. W A N T E D! Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers (Nursing Homes, CBRFs, and Homebound), Greeters, Lectors, Lockup, Sacristans and Ushers to assist at the Mass of your choice. In addition, our brothers and sisters who cannot join us around the altar, here at Nativity, truly look forward and appreciate receiving our Lord in the sacrament of Holy Communion from a Nativity Eucharistic Minister. These are our brothers and sisters who are confined in our local Nursing Homes (Maple Ridge/ San Luis Manor and Woodside Lutheran Home), and CBRFs (Woodside Oaks and Manor) or their own homes. We want to strengthen this ministry at Nativity Parish because the need is getting greater each year. You can volunteer as little as once, twice or three times a month and we will train you. These volunteers/ ministers help prepare for Mass by caring for the altar linens that are used each time we celebrate Mass. 8 HOMEBOUND Do you know someone unable to get to church because of illness, frailty, or other struggles? For the homebound, My Sunday Mass on WACY-TV channel 32 at 8:00 a.m. and WBAY channel 2 at 5:30 a.m. provides spiritual comfort and hope.
