INDIVIDUAL RECONCILIATION AT NATIVITY Saturdays, 4:00-4:40 PM (not on April 7th) PENANCE SERVICES WITH INDIVIDUAL RECONCILIATION Tuesday, March 27, 6:30 PM - Nativity SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK will be offered this Sunday, March 25th after the 8:30 AM Mass. This Sacrament is offered to anyone in need of Christ s healing touch. The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for those who are in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Think of friends and loved ones who may want to receive this sacrament and invite them to this Mass. EASTER VIGIL CHOIR INVITE! (Mass--8:00 PM April 7th) If you have sung/played with this group before you know how exciting it is and if you haven t you might want to check it out. The Easter Vigil is the mother of all vigils and there s lots of music (and a great variety and styles). If interested, contact Michael Raught and/or Wayne Efferson (natwe@nativityparish.com). WHAT S HAPPENING IN RCIA? (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS): Our Catechumen (Andres Rosas) and Candidate (Alan Young), having been sent to the Bishop for the Rite of Election, are now called The Elect, since we ELECT them to continue the final preparations to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. During third, fourth and fifth Sundays of Lent, the Elect will experience the Rite of Scrutiny where they ask the entire Christian community to pray that whatever is weak and sinful within them may be eliminated and that whatever is good and holy may be affirmed. This ancient practice called Scrutiny helps the Elect to follow the path of purification and enlightenment that leads to commitment and initiation at the Easter Vigil. We ask that you continually keep them in your prayers so that they will be ready to join us around the altar at Easter. Located in the narthex you will find their photos on an easel and basket with their names on slips of paper. We invite you to take their names so that you can keep them in prayer during his journey in becoming Catholic. MAKE A BED FOR A HOMELESS PERSON Do you have any old blankets, quilts, and/or mattress pads (no electric blankets please) that you would like to donate for making portable sleeping bags for the homeless in Milwaukee. My sister-in law, Ann Birr-Ruelle, is one of many volunteers who make the sleeping bags for the outreach work of Repairers of the Breach, downtown Milwaukee. Last Lent you provided over 200 pieces and Ann was able to sew 30 sleeping bags (7 blankets sewed together; back strap included!). You can drop off your old blankets in the Narthex or Parish Office anytime during Lent. ~Wayne Efferson EASTER CHOIRS These Choirs Will Sing For Easter: Easter Vigil: *8:00 PM Easter Vigil Choir (directed by Michael Raught & Wayne Efferson) Easter Morning: *8:30 AM Nativity s Choir, (directed by Mary Kay Koehnke) *10:15 AM Children s Choir, (directed by Elissa Richardson) AFRICAN PALMS USA Since 1976, this outreach program of St. John s Church, Olney, MD sells more than 15 million (to 2,600 churches) annually. Over the years, grants support East African countries like Tanzania with self-help programs and community projects, such as (HIV/AIDS). The crosses are made by Africans from native palms. Since 1995, the Worship Commission has made these available every Palm Sunday and collected donations well over $4,000. Again, thank you for you donations to carry on this important mission work. 4

As Christians, we believe that this new covenant is fulfilled in Jesus. This week through Operation Rice Bowl, we learn about malnourished children and expectant mothers in India whose health has been compromised by their poverty. We pray that we may open our hearts to the needs of the poor and vulnerable. We fast, not merely from our excess, but from our very substance, so that new life may come to all who suffer from poverty, illness and injustice. We give so that CRS-trained health care workers can help improve the lives of women and children throughout the world. FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE!
