See you there! Each October, we celebrate Respect Life Month a yearround, nationwide effort to help Catholics understand, value, and become engaged with cultivating respect for life. Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End of everything. Every human life is cherished, chosen and sent from conception through death. More information is available online at 10/21 SUN: 2018 ANNUAL PARISH MEETING Nativity Parish will hold their Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, October 21 after 10:15 AM Mass. Please meet us after Mass in the LOUNGE with your comments/ideas and suggestions. See you then! Rose Bud for Love Life Program LOVE LIFE is a local program that provides baby supplies for needy families (in our area) that qualify. LOVE LIFE is located at The Hope Center on Clinton Street. Following Masses October 20 and 21, Knights of Columbus members will be available at each door for your contribution and will be handing out the rose bud lapel stickers. FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN Thank you to everyone who donated money, volunteered a few hours at the Green Bay MobilePack on October 1-4, and prayed for its success. We packed 785,376 meals, which will feed 2,151 children for an entire year! According to UNICEF at least 6,200 children die each day from hunger related causes. A recent United Nations report states that hunger is still on the rise due to the increasing number of refugees in the world. Presently there are 68 million refugees, and FMSC is supplying many of the meals. Each meal costs just 22 so your quarters are saving lives! A donation of $80.00 will feed one child for an entire year. Thank you for your continued support and prayers for FMSC which exists to eradicate hunger and provide hope in Jesus name. For Christians, to lead is to be of service to others, a complicated and difficult task. It is too easy (and un-christian) to demand respect, to lord it over others. The Messiah-Christ is the suffering servant who justifies many, taking their faults on Himself. So Jesus washed His disciples feet. Jesus knows and feels our weakness from His own experience. ARE YOU CATHOLIC? Would you like to know more about the Catholic Faith? The RCIA, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, inquiry sessions began Sunday, September 23 after 8:30 AM Mass in the library. Are you an adult over 18 and out of high school and interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? If you or someone you know would like to step more fully into practice of their Catholic Faith, RCIA sessions can be just the answer. Who takes this Faith Journey? An unbaptized person interested in learning about the Catholic Faith. Catholics, who though baptized are not catechized and/or did not complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist/ Confirmation). Persons baptized in another Christian Faith who seek to make a profession of faith in the Catholic tradition and be accepted into full communion of the Catholic Church. This is a good day, a good season to recall family, friends, or relatives who have died. It s a time to tend family graves, bring flowers and to tell stories we remember about these people. We will remember those who have gone before us, marked with the sign of faith at all three Masses on November 3/4, especially those whose funerals were celebrated this past year. Family members whose loved ones funerals were celebrated this past year at Nativity will hear the reading of their name and be invited to take home their loved ones labeled candle from around the Baptismal Font, after the Mass they attend. This candle is a symbol of the resurrection, a hope and belief that all will rise with Christ. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY COLLECTION MERCY CHANGES THE WORLD OCTOBER 20/21 Recently Bishop Ricken wrote to all parishes saying, Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, the celebration of World Mission Sunday on October 21 provides an opportunity to commit ourselves, as missionary disciples. As children of God, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, reminds us of our common call, to be voices for mission. World Mission Sunday is a time for all humanity to come forth offering prayer and generous gifts for our brothers and sisters who are enduring tremendous need throughout the world, especially the mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe. The Holy Father s chief missionary arm, The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, is the vehicle that brings the life-giving presence of the Church among the poor and marginalized to 1,111 mission dioceses all over the world. Please be as generous as you are able.

Nativity Parish would like to honor our U.S. military veterans who have served (not currently serving) in any of the branches including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves. Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla, daughter of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, whom she gave her life for, will be the special guest. There will also be a special speaker, Dr. Teresa Stanton Collett, a national expert who will speak on Thinking Outside the Pill: Humanae Vitae for the Next Generation. A professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, she specializes in the subjects of marriage, religion, and bioethics in her research. Registration is requested. Cost: $10/students $25/adults Register online: Nativity Men s Spiritual Gathering Wednesday, October 31 6:30-7:30 AM in the Library (Enter door 1 - north side of church) Coffee and rolls will be served to start the presentation of a Diocesan sponsored program. This program has been well received and offers a new perspective in spiritual learning. It will end with the opportunity to attend Mass at 8:00 AM. 5 Your Help is Needed! Once again, one of Nativity s parishioners will be traveling to Texas and then across the border to a Mission in Mexico. She brings them clothing and shoes, but the most requested item is shampoo and personal hygiene items, but especially shampoo. Hotel sized and partially used bottles will also be accepted. We had a terrific amount of donations last year that were truly appreciated. If anyone would like to donate to this wonderful cause to provide for people at the Mission, please drop items off in the Parish Office during office hours. Thank you! 7 REPORTING SEXUAL ABUSE If you know of an incident of sexual abuse of a person who is now under the age of 18 by a priest, deacon, employee or volunteer, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CALL THE CIVIL AUTHORITIES AND THEN THE DIOCESE. YOU MATTER TO US THERE IS HOPE! Crisis Center Pregnancy Hotline BAPTISMS Parents may schedule their child s Baptism after they have completed a short preparation program. Call the Parish Office at at least 60 days before Baptism for an interview and a preparation session. SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK December 30 This Sacrament is offered to anyone in need of Christ s healing touch. The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for those who are in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Think of friends and loved ones who may want to receive this sacrament and invite them to this Mass. RCIA RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS Do you want to know more about the Catholic faith?
