Teresa was director of the Revelations Choir, which is now known as New Life. In the past, she was also a member of Worship Commission. She serves as Organist, accompanying the Cantors, primarily at the 5:00 Mass on Saturday. This talented and dedicated member of Nativity Parish has directed the choirs for both the Christmas Midnight and the Easter Vigil Masses for many years. She has done all of this with a kind heart and a smile. We are so blessed to have Teresa here at Nativity. As we recognize her this week for the fantastic things she does for our parish, please remember to give her a handshake, a hug and/or a smile in thanks for all of her dedication, past and present. JIM HABLEWITZ S GOLDEN JUBILEE (50TH ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION) Fr. Jim Hablewitz s Golden Jubilee will begin with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 10:30 AM on Sunday, May 21 at St. Patrick Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, Wisconsin. Please come and help Fr. TAIZE PRAYER The AFRICAN CHILDREN S CHOIR will once again be visiting our area and we are proud to host them for the sixth time on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Nineteen children (10 girls & 9 boys) and eight (8) adult chaperones will need seven homes during their stay. This has been a powerful experience for dozens of Nativity Host Families who opened their homes in past African Children s Choir Tours. As an added bonus, Host Families get Two Nights with their child/chaperone. During their brief stay in Green Bay, the children will hold their school classes at the parish on Thursday; there will be soundings of drums and children singing periodically throughout the day. This is a concert you don t want to miss! 4 Nativity of Our Lord Parish will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:30 PM (Chapel). Taize (pronounced-- Teh-ZAY) is an ecumenical, peaceful way to pray, using easy to learn musical chants, silent meditation, and scripture readings...a meditative, common prayer. Gathered in faith, Christians come together to sing uncomplicated repetitive short songs, like breath prayers, uncluttered by too many words, allowing the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of the Spirit in its simplicity. A few words sung over and over again (mantra) reinforce the meditative quality of prayer. They express a basic reality of faith that can quickly be grasped by the intellect, and will gradually penetrate the whole being. Your prayerful and financial support will not only adorn this Crowning Jewel and complete Mary s Shrine, but will also leave a lasting legacy for generations to come in this living monument to our Catholic faith and heritage that is America s Catholic Church. STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY Live your life in Christ! The Stewardship Ministry is looking for people to join our fun, faith-filled group. Meetings are held once a month (off in summer and around holidays). Participation in a few events throughout the year are also encouraged, including Diocese Stewardship Weekend, the volunteer appreciation meal and helping serve food once a year at the N.E.W. It has a long history of embracing diverse newcomers and providing assistance and pastoral care to immigrants, migrants, refugees, and people on the move. Jesus calls us to welcome the stranger among us, for in this encounter with the immigrant, the migrant, and the refugee in our midst, we encounter Christ. St. Elizabeth Seton and Nativity Parishes are sponsoring a seminar titled Helping Our Immigrant Neighbors. All are welcome to join community members for a 3-part seminar Helping Our Immigrant Neighbors to be held Mondays May 15, 22, and June 5 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. At these sessions, we will learn facts about undocumented immigrants, hear about key issues that impact lives, and bust myths about our immigrant neighbors who live, work and pay taxes in the Green Bay community. For more information, contact Randy Kostichka randy@kostichka.com or UPDATE ON..THE MISSION IN MEXICO Remember the donations (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) we were collecting for the Mission in Mexico? Here is an update on how it all went! It was a great season, except for the many times we were checked at the border and turned back. But there are three bridges and we kept trying until we got in! The shampoo was like Christmas morning! There are pitiful shacks along a railroad track, one week we started on one end and the other end the next week. By the time we passed out food and shampoo to four or five places, the word had spread that we were there. During the distribution it started to pour so hard we had to stop and in the middle of the rain a lady came running up to us in bare feet asking for shampoo. I also made up bags of shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes for the poor. I can t thank you enough for all your donations and making this possible for the people there! Betty Malueg

Sharing Faith from Around the World With little water, minimal electricity and no money, the people of our Elias Piña Mission in the Dominican Republic have abundant faith. In this land of poverty, many people do not have the resources to find a job or the ability to attend Mass. The mission in Elias Piña helps provide necessary resources by attending to the physical and spiritual needs of these communities. Although you may not be able to physically travel to the Dominican Republic to help these communities, your support of the Bishop s Appeal can share our faith with them from across the globe.
