2 EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AND BENEDICTION Eucharistic Adoration will be held from 3:00 6:00 PM during Lent with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 5:50. Please try to stop in for Adoration during Lent. You can spend whatever time you wish in the presence of the Eucharist. Watch the bulletin for more details! STATIONS OF THE CROSS Stations of the Cross will take place on Friday s during Lent at 7 PM except on Good Friday which will be at 3 PM. The Stations will be led by either Fr. Karol or one of our parishioners starting March 3rd. YOU RE INVITED TO OUR MARDI GRAS BREAKFAST You re invited to the St. John Mardi Gras breakfast this Sunday morning February 26. It will be immediately after the Palm Burning ceremony and 10 AM Mass. Join us in the bedecked Social Hall with its festive Mardi Gras decorations. Fr. Karol will burn last years palms after the 10:00 Mass this Sunday, February 26th. Ash Wednesday is March 1. Those who are bound by this may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. ATTENTION About a year ago, Cardinal Cupich began speaking to the pastors of the Archdiocese regarding the Renew My Church initiative, a true opportunity for parishes to work toward a common goal. Without knowingly doing so, back in February of 2016, St. Lawrence O Toole took our own initiative to offer a 4 week course for training people to be Ministers of Care to the Sick. We had five parishes participate last year, and it s time to do it again. Therefore, we will be offering training to be held on the four Tuesdays in March this year, March 7, March 14, March 21 & March 28. Since the Archdiocese asks that new ministers have no less than 12 hours of training, the sessions will be from 6:30 PM 9:30 PM on these evenings. There will be a variety of presenters. So, if you want to be able to carry the Body of Our Lord to the sick in their homes or to hospitals or nursing homes, please contact the Parish Office to register for these trainings, and mark these evenings in your calendar. The Young Adult Ministry team coordinated a group of 7 volunteer parishioners to help single mom, Janette and her son, Jaden with landscaping activities on their new property. It was a fun and rewarding day for all. Janette, the new homeowner told our team, Some people want to go on vacation to Jamaica or somewhere. I just wanted a home. As a single mom, this is the most important thing to me and my son. The Young Adult Ministry plans to coordinate more service events in the future. It has been a humbling experience for all those participating. Stay tuned for more details.
